The strategically positioned picture windows enable you to take full advantage of the amazing views. The patio doors open onto a charming, enclosed patio, where many lazy days can be spent. One of the king-sized beds can be made up as a twin. Rowanberry Cottage would make a perfect holiday retreat for anyone wishing to explore central Lake District. Accommodation in detail: Entrance hall, with high-quality cloakroom, leading to the spacious and beautifully fitted kitchen/diner with washer/dryer, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, double oven, ceramic hob and microwave oven. The light and airy lounge has relaxed furnishings and patio doors, leading to the garden. Upstairs there are two fabulous bedrooms, both with king-sized beds, high-quality en-suite facilities and excellent views to the surrounding fells. One of the bedrooms can be made up as a twin, so please specify your requirements when you book. Please note that this property is strictly non-smoking and is unsuitable for babies and children. Private parking is available for two cars. Location: Grasmere is located at the very heart of the Lakes, west of Ambleside and north of both Coniston and Hawkshead. Stride up to Easedale Tarn in the fells above the village, stroll on the peaceful shores of the nearby Rydal Water, or take on Fairfield, Silver How or Loughrigg to name but a few! Grasmere village centre has a village green and several unique shops, tea rooms and very good restaurants, including the Good Food Guide listed Jumble Room. There are several good pubs in the village and in the surrounding area too. Although hugely popular with tourists and walkers, Grasmere remains a relaxed village location with a fascinating and unique history. Explore the legacy of artists who've been inspired by the landscapes around the village; of note is Heaton Cooper whose studio is in the village. About the location

GRASMERE

Ambleside 5 miles; Windermere 9 miles; Keswick 13 miles.

Situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park is the lovely village of Grasmere, probably best known as the home of William Wordsworth, a place he once described as "The most loveliest spot that man hath found". Any visit to Grasmere needs to include The Grasmere Gingerbread shop, where the Wilson family has been making gingerbread for over 60 years. Also in the village are a number of shops, pubs, a church which dates back to the 13th century, and Grasmere Lake. Grasmere Sports takes place every August, where you can watch participants compete in a variety of sports, including Cumberland wrestling. Just five miles away is the town of Ambleside and Lake Winderemere where you will find shops, pubs, restaurants and the 17th century Bridge House, which is one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District. Cruises, boat trips and watersports can all be enjoyed on Lake Windermere, and the towns of Windermere and Keswick are also within driving distance. Grasmere is a wonderful base for your Lake District retreat.
