Understated style and comfort sets the tone for Ruskin House at LOWGROVE. It is a quintessential Lakeland farmhouse. It is regarded as a home away from home for guests, creating a warm, personalised atmosphere. Perfect for families or friends gatherings or creating romantic hideaways for couples.
Situated on the outskirts of Ambleside, discreetly perched high above the hubbub of the gift shops, pubs and restaurants on a private road. Ruskin House at LOWGROVE commands breath-taking mountain views, set in a 11acre private estate.
Accommodation in detail
Past the front gates at LOWGROVE and along the driveway leads to the farmhouse with ample parking, that is immediately outside the back entrance. Here, you will find a well appointed boot room area with a separate WC/wash basin to one side and a large pantry housing the washing machine, large freezer and useful Belfast sink. Perfect for cleaning and drying off wet/muddy outdoor gear. Upstairs to the first level there is a beautiful farmhouse kitchen / diner with great aspects to the north and south. The Aga frames this welcoming space for any occasion. The living room occupies south facing aspects towards Loughrigg and beyond.
The room houses comfortable sofas with a stunning fireplace with a wood-burner as its focal point. Ideal for cosy nights in, regardless of the weather. Adjoining this room is the south-facing terrace with furnishings. A must is enjoying a coffee first thing in the morning to watch the sun rise or for an early evening drink/supper to watch the sunset over the Lakeland fells. Stairs lead to the top floor where the views simply get better. Here there are three bedrooms, one king size with dual aspect and two double bedrooms plus the relaxing bathroom complete with slipper bath and separate shower cubicle.
Ambleside village is located on the northern shores of Lake Windermere. Easily accessible via the main A591 off the M6, makes it a favourite amongst visitors as one of the most popular of Lakeland destinations. The village is central to offering the very best in dining out, shopping and entertainment including cinema screens and concerts. Note that the property is in an area where it is unlikely you will obtain a mobile signal.
