A 10 minute stroll will bring you to the prestigious Windermere Golf Club which borders Lindeth Lane and bustling Bowness village is but a couple of miles away with all its attractions including the shores of Lake Windermere itself.

A traditional entrance porch leads in from the courtyard garden; lounge with picture window, white painted oak beams, sumptuous furnishings and wood burning stove, perfect for a cosy night in. The kitchen / dining room has all you may need and is full of character together with modern conveniences. The stone stairs lead upstairs to two beautiful bedrooms; a king size room, 'Boxing Hares', with its very own dressing room ensuite or a great place to sleep the little one and 'Stags', the double bedroom. Both enjoy gorgeous furnishings and are themed individually. The bathroom is luxurious and with large power shower facility. Outside is the pretty and relaxing courtyard / garden, al-fresco living will be enjoyed here amongst field views with plentiful wildlife.
Smithy Cottage at Lindeth is located to the south east of Lake Windermere, circumscribed by the famous Lake District walks amidst glorious countryside. This sheltered valley is famous for its damson orchards, which give rise to gorgeous white blossom in spring.
The landscapes are scattered with country homes and rural Lake District cottages, as well as the choice of several acclaimed Lake District country pubs.
On the shores of Lake Windermere, Bowness is a sophisticated Lakeland village with a wealth to explore and enjoy and only a short drive from this cottage. Stroll to the lake shore to hire a row boat or power boat, or take an elegant cruise on one of the Lake Windermere steamers. Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly to Ambleside and Lakeside; a wonderful way to explore without even using your car.
There are several excellent restaurants in Bowness village, The Postillion Restaurant is a long-standing favourite for stylish dining, while the Porthole and Bodegas & Sol puts a contemporary twist on the tapas style. There are also plenty of traditional Lakeland pubs, both in the village centre and the surrounding countryside.
