Ample parking for 2 or 3 cars behind the cottage with an enclosed garden/orchard and a detached garage being ideal for mountain bikes and the like. Entrance is through the rear garden down a small number of steps into the dining room which opens into the kitchen. Through to the beautiful lounge with open fire and with views over the enclosed front garden. The garden door opens on to the patio / garden complete with garden furniture as this sunny spot is ideal for al-fresco living on sunny days. Upstairs to the three king size bedrooms that are tastefully furnished, two with views over the valley. All bedrooms also have LCD TV's. The house bathroom has bath with shower over.
On the eastern shores of Lake Windermere, Bowness is a sophisticated Lakeland village with a wealth to explore and enjoy. Stroll to the lake shore to hire a row boat or power boat, or take an elegant cruise on one of the Lake Windermere steamers. Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly to Ambleside and Lakeside; a wonderful way to explore without even using your car.
There are several excellent restaurants in Bowness village, The Postillion Restaurant is a long-standing favourite for stylish dining, while the Porthole and Bodegas & Sol puts a contemporary twist on the tapas style. There are also plenty of traditional Lakeland pubs, both in the village centre and the surrounding countryside. Windermere Golf Club is just outside Bowness village, on the way to the Lyth Valley. This area is also renowned for gentle but very scenic walking, with a wealth of acclaimed Lake District country pubs to choose from at the end of the day.
Close to the village, you'll find Blackwell, The Arts and Crafts House. This impressive property takes a stunning position overlooking Lake Windermere, and has a range of interesting exhibitions.
Join the A591 to Ambleside and Grasmere, and you can explore the homes of famous Lake District poet, William Wordsworth.
