    View amazing and really spacious house. The only disappointment was that we could not recycle any of our waste, this is really disgraceful for a property in such a beautiful area of the natural world.

Location A self-catering property near Bowness-on-Windermere is a top choice for families, lake-lovers, boating enthusiasts and those who simply want to enjoy a varied holiday in the Lake District. On the eastern shores of Lake Windermere, Bowness village is alive with local shops, handy supermarket, excellent restaurants and eateries, cosy Lakeland pubs, fish & chips and Lake District family attractions. It's also without doubt the best place in the Lakes to buy an ice-cream! Stroll along Bowness Bay to watch yachts come and go, hire a power boat or row boat on Lake Windermere, or take a memorable cruise on the Windermere Lake steamers - a great way to get to Ambleside or Lakeside without even using the car! There's plenty to do on rainy days, with the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, a cinema and even a theatre. Don't forget Lakes Aquarium, at the south end of the Lake. The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, cinema, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and the Old Laundry Theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. Brockhole, which offers high wire tree top experiences, is three miles away, and the historic villages of Grasmere, Ambleside and Troutbeck are a short drive away.
