Accommodation in detail
Centrally situated The Daffodils has private parking for 2 small cars positioned in front of the garage door outside of the property. There are two entrances into the property but we will use the rear entrance as appropriate next to the parking and driveway; a glazed entrance utility houses the washing machine and tumble dryer and what a great place for walking gear. The very well equipped kitchen has all you may need and leads into the spacious living room with large windows looking out towards the surrounding mountains.
This is a relaxing space with sumptuous furnishings by the warming woodburner and an ideal dining area. An inner hall has access to the delightful garden and on this ground level is one of the king size bedrooms complete with wall of glazed patio doors; the Victorian style bathroom equipped with slipper bath and separate massage shower cubicle, perfect after a day on the mountains.
There is a separate cloakroom also on this level housing the 3rd WC / wash basin. Upstairs to the second king size bedroom with glorious views towards Stone Arthur and Heron Pike, and this bedroom boasts an en-suite shower room. Outside the gardens are a true delight, very private yet 1 minutes stroll to the heart of the village, the garden has a patio with furniture being ideal for al-fresco living and there is a pond in the garden so please be vigilant with little ones.
Nestled in the very heart of the Lakes, Grasmere is a lovely place for a romantic break in peaceful surroundings. With the views beginning at home, you'll be tempted to take on such famous Lake District walks as Silver How, Lang How and Helm Crag. Rising very close to the property is the impressive 'Fairfield Horseshoe' - keen walkers will be spoilt for choice.
But a holiday property in Grasmere isn't just a dream for walkers. This historic Lake District village is famed for its connections with the poet William Wordsworth, who lived in the village at Dove Cottage - now owned by the National Trust and open to the public as part of the Wordsworth Museum. Artists will enjoy browsing several watercolour galleries in Grasmere, particularly the Heaton Cooper Studio which displays the Cooper family's famous work as well as that of inspired local artists.
The village centre has all the facilities you'll need during your self-catering holiday in the heart of the Lakes. From local shops and supermarket to quaint tea rooms and acclaimed restaurants - the Good Food Guide-listed Jumble Room is a treat for a special occasion. For touring by car or exploring the Lakes, the A591 leads you effortlessly south past Rydal Water to Ambleside on the northern shore of Lake Windermere, or north to Keswick and Derwent Water. Also easily found to your south are the breathtaking Langdale Valley and the Lake District's third largest lake, Coniston.
