Sawrey Knotts was built in 1861 by the Magistrate Robert Sowler as a stunning Victorian residence with great character. Top Garden Suite, with its elevated position and own private entrance at the top of the former house offers beautiful views above the rooftops to Lake Windermere and the surrounding countryside and as the name suggests has direct access to the gardens.
Set within three acres of shared grounds and garden, the area is a real haven for wildlife including red squirrels, badgers, a plethora of birdlife and the occasional red deer. The village of Far Sawrey is just a two minute walk, where the popular Cuckoo Brow Inn serves up great local food & a selection of fine ales. A further 10 minute walk will take you to Near Sawrey & Hill Top, the onetime home of Beatrix Potter and many cottages that feature in her little books and of course another village pub.
Top Garden Suite has walks directly from the front door including to two nearby National Trust properties; Hill Top and Claife Viewing Station, many local hill and woodland walks or to Windermere via the ferry.. Hawkshead, Grizedale Forest, Tarn Howes, Wray Castle, Brantwood House and the Langdales are all easily accessible by car. The options for cycling are endless.
Top Garden suite is in an incredibly quiet and peaceful location and so offers a great opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and to relax in beautiful surroundings located in easy reach of all the Lake District has to offer.
