Thirty Blencathra Street is an incredibly well appointed property, sleeping eight people comfortably. It is built in local slate and stone and is decorated in warm grey tones with comfort and cosiness in mind. Thoughtful detail touches adorn the walls and much of the original features of the property remain with Victorian doors, fireplaces, staircase, high ceilings and picture rails throughout.

Through the front door is a small porch with ample storage for muddy boots and coats. Beyond an original glazed door is the hall leading to the open-plan dining room, a beautiful room featuring a large specially commissioned solid wood dining table with long benches; perfect for a big group breakfast or dinner. With a wood burner sat in a lovely exposed brick and Lakeland slate surround it also makes a great space to spend the evenings together. A French door onto the courtyard garden opens up the living space when the weather permits.
The kitchen is very well designed with luxury stone effect floors and washed wood counter tops. Including a full complement of integrated appliances including a fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, slow-cooker, gas hob and electric oven and grill, you have all you need to cook up a feast in a spacious environment. A small breakfast bar is built in at the end of the work units which would make a great place for a breakfast buffet or a sociable glass of wine whilst preparing meals.
There is a small enclosed courtyard garden accessible both from the kitchen and dining room with outdoor seating and a small garage with secure, lockable storage for bikes and other outdoor equipment. There are also washing facilities for muddy paws, bikes and boots in the garage.
A lovely light and airy bedroom is situated on the ground floor with a period feature fireplace which can be set as a twin or super king size bed. High quality mattresses, duvets and pillows have been used throughout the house to guarantee a wonderfully comfortable night's sleep for all.
On the first floor are 2 shared bathrooms, both luxuriously finished, as with the rest of the house, making the bathrooms real wow spaces. One has a large shower and w.c. and the other a freestanding contemporary bath, double shower and wc. All bathrooms are fitted with towel rails.
A small first floor utility room houses the washing machine and tumble dryer, tucked out of the way to avoid any noise.
Still on the first floor but up 4 steps from the landing is bedroom 2 with zip and link beds providing twin flexibility or a spacious super king size double.
On this floor you will also find the light and spacious living room situated at the front of the house to take advantage of the spectacular views of Skiddaw and the surrounding fells. With three sofas, two easy chairs, a smart tv with a Sky package, Netflix and Freeview channels, a DVD player, Bluetooth speaker and another log burning stove, it is a another very cosy homely space to socialise and relax.
On the top floor there is one double bedroom featuring a large double bed and a beautiful suite with en-suite shower room. This lovely room has two windows and enjoys fabulous views of Skiddaw. A sofa-bed and seating area with a smart TV and an Xbox 360, makes the room very comfortable, and a fabulous space to get away from it all; ideal for children and teenagers.

This friendly town hosts the very popular twice weekly market that has recently won the coveted “Best Outdoor Market” in the Great British Market Awards. The town also offers a fantastic array of shops offering everything from craft bakeries and local produce, antiques, crafts and much, much more.
If you are looking for somewhere to eat and drink, a week just won't be long enough to sample the great range of pubs, restaurants, bistros, cafes and wine bars! For a great evening out why not visit the 100 year old Alhambra offering first class cinema entertainment in traditional surroundings or enjoy an evening at “the most beautiful and friendly theatre in Britain”, the 400 seat Theatre By The Lake on the shores of Derwentwater.
