“We are a family with four teenagers and a dog.”

Tower Cottage exceeded our expectations, which were already high prior to arrival. The property is immaculately presented and the location is ideal being only a short walk to either Windermere town or lake. All bedrooms are warm and comfortable, bathrooms are stylish and the upstairs lounge/games room has stunning views and is a great chill out area for the kids. The garden just goes on and on, and would be lovely in the summer. Everywhere feels light, airy and spacious with very high quality ...

The garden just goes on and on, and would be lovely in the summer. Everywhere feels light, airy and spacious with very high quality fittings throughout. We are so taken with the property that we are considering another booking for later this year. Lovely cottage, great location, very welcoming and highly recommended.

The property

An airy haven of great views, sleek design and undeniable class, this handsome converted former coach house is a five minute walk from the centre of Windermere and commands stunning views across Lake Windermere, towards the famous Langdale Pikes. Wake in the comfort of one of the modern four-poster bedrooms, then gather in the gorgeous open plan living area to gaze out over the lake and plan your day. Wander in the beautiful gardens, take your picnics outside or dine inside together - with a stylish space, complete with retro furnishings in which to relax and share company. A 2nd chic lounge (with even better views, TV and games section) provides space for families or couples sharing. == Accommodation in detail Private parking for 2 cars. Enter to slate hallway and the open plan living space with enormous windows - behold the fabulous views. Comfortable sofas are set on wooden floors, around a 'Hwan' Danish circular woodburner and surrounded by picture windows. The kitchen and dining area are pleasantly open to the lounge but set apart by contrasting slate floors. The first super king-size bedroom is on this level, with underfloor heated Lakeland slate bathroom. Upstairs to the second lounge with TV and games section, panoramic box bay window and sleek white leather sofas. Kingsize bedroom with oak four-poster and en-suite bathroom. Twin bedroom and wet room. Location Windermere is a small but very well-served Lakeland village, in a great location with excellent links for exploring the entire Lake District. Only 20 minutes from the M6 and with a train station in the village centre, Windermere is very easy to reach and provides a convenient base even for those who'd prefer not to bring a car. The high street has a number of interesting local shops, plenty of lazy cafes and a selection of restaurants and traditional pubs. The renowned Booths supermarket provides all your everyday essentials, along with the finest local produce to enjoy during your stay. Windermere village is, of course, within very easy reach of the shores of Lake Windermere. Stroll down to Miller Ground or wander just a couple of miles down the road to Bowness village - where boating activities are the highlight of Bowness Bay. Hire a row boat, or take a Lake Windermere steamer cruise to explore Ambleside or Lakeside - a wonderful way to explore car-free! The A591 provides easy access by car or bus to some of the Lake District's most fabulous walking routes, but there are also a few lovely strolls to enjoy around Windermere. A short walk up Orrest Head affords glorious views to the lake. Well worth exploring, the nearby village of Staveley is the starting point for stunning walking and mountain biking in the Kentmere Valley.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
