Treacle Cottage is set over three floors. Stone steps lead to the front door. On the ground floor there are essentially three reception rooms, ideal for that large social gathering or special family celebrations. The living room with old beams, comfortable furnishings and the wood burning fire is cosy and welcoming. The second sitting room also with oak beams and with ample seating, is ideal as a quiet room for relaxing and escaping with a book. Both have window seats with views to the fells and original wooden shutters, TV with Freeview and DVD. Go through to the cottage kitchen with slate floor, rangemaster hob and oven. Access from the kitchen is to the tiered gardens and patios. Two stone steps lead down into the dining room with a large family dining table and chairs. There is very useful boot room/utility room where the washing machine/tumble drier is located.
Stairs lead to the first floor, where there are four bedrooms to choose from, two presented with king size beds and ensuite shower rooms, a twin bedroom and a pretty single bedroom which are complemented by a luxurious family bathroom with roll top bath, corner shower, basin and WC. The final bedroom suite, with double bed and ensuite bathroom, is located on the second floor and benefits from a lovely view to the fells.
To the rear of the property is a private lawned garden with tiered patio with garden furniture to enjoy al-fresco living.

For evening entertainment, you'll find plenty to suit every taste. Try the popular Fulling Mill restaurant, in a superbly converted saw mill, for a special evening out. Or, take your pick from the two quirky cinemas; Zeffirellis cinema includes a great pizzeria and live jazz bar. Fellinis has an excellent vegetarian restaurant and shows films in a relaxed studio cinema environment. You'll also find a wide range of pubs, serving hearty food and real Lakeland ale - notable for its lake shore setting is the Wateredge Inn. Windermere Lake Cruises depart from Waterhead Pier, just outside Ambleside village centre. The elegant 'steamers' offer regular trips to Bowness and Lakeside - a great way to explore without driving. Evening cruises are also available, sometimes with buffet meals and live music.
