We all know luxury comes with a price. Nature of course doesn’t have to pay for it and Twitchers Cottage ethos certainly echoes this. Amidst a secluded private 17th century estate, circumscribed by landscaped informal gardens leading to an arboretum and tarn at the foot of the Kentmere valley lies this dynamic and unique architect-designed luxury cottage.
If searching for sublime relaxation and escapism on the doorstep of ever popular Windermere, look no more? The haute design and sophisticated interior would not look out of place in any other trendy purlieus and the beguiling opulence of this sleek contemporary pad combined with the outstanding surroundings brings about a luxury residence into this stunning location quite unlike any other. A bi-folding wall of glass provide ever changing pictures, complementing the natural surroundings and the designer's theatrical approach to space and light welcomes the outside in so that you needn't miss a moment of the majestic setting.
From the ashes of an old substantial barn is a private spa facility a few yards from your doorstep, for the exclusive use of this cottage and four other secluded hideaways, bliss. Highlights include the fantastic 16 meter indoor pool with wrap-around walls of bi-folding glass doors opening onto the glorious gardens / steam room / sauna and gym. Also you can book the Treatment room for massage and beauty treatments.

Location
It's hard to describe the magic of this location; at the foot of Kentmere approached by a maze of picturesque lanes. Even when explored by car, this area is one of the Lake District's most beautiful with Lake Windermere and the village of Windermere only 15 minutes away... and from your classy pad you'll enjoy beautiful views throughout your stay.
The nearest village is Staveley, which places you at the heart of a real Lakeland community. The pretty village lies at the gateway to the Kentmere Valley, in a convenient location between Kendal and Windermere.
Staveley is alive with artisan crafts and art galleries, but it's also an absolute treat for foodies. In the Staveley Mill Yard, you'll find the famous More Artisan Bakery, the popular walkers' cafe 'Wilf's Cafe' and also the award-winning Hawkshead Brewery and Beer Hall (selling 'beer tapas' bar food.) You'll have to try them all! The perfect Lake District pub is the Eagle & Child - one of the most highly-regarded pubs in the area and a perfect choice for a bar meal out.
To stock up your kitchen and explore further afield, you only need drive a few miles on the A591 to Windermere village. There, you'll find a high class Booths supermarket and many other useful shops. From Windermere village, the A591 provides your main route into the heart of the Lakes, making this cottage's setting a very convenient Lake District holiday base.
Only 15 minutes from Windermere and Bowness, 15 minutes from Kendal and twenty minutes from the Yorkshire Dales you'll find something for everyone. The Gateway Inn and the Plumgarths food centre with farm shop, bakery and popular cafe are a short distance away.
