Wansfell is in one of the best locations in Ambleside. Set in a conservation area, a few minutes’ walk from the town centre, from its elevated position it sits in large gardens that offer views to Lake Windermere. This modern, detached property in its own grounds, has been finished to a high standard by its current owner to offer a high quality retreat in one of the Lake District’s most desirable locations whatever the time of year you choose to visit.
The house takes its name from the neighbouring hill that overlooks Lake Windermere and is one of the Lake District's most stunning viewpoints.
The lounge is bright and airy with dual aspect patio doors to the gardens and a cosy log burning stove. This social space is complemented with a great dining room with its bespoke dining table and access to the balcony and a ground floor snug ideal for reading or watching TV. The kitchen is very well appointed and the ideal place to prepare a hearty breakfast or a family dinner. The bedrooms all have garden views and are bright and airy and all include Egyptian cotton linen.
The bustling village of Ambleside is just a short walk away and offers a great selection of local bars, restaurants and cafes along with a great range of local shops many selling local produce. Situated in the heart of the Lake District there are a myriad of walks from the door, follow in the footsteps of William Wordsworth and enjoy an afternoon stroll to Grasmere, the more adventurous might head right out of the door directly onto the footpath to Fairfield Horseshoe, a favourite of many a Lakeland Fell walker, and if you believe a little effort deserves a reward why not watch sunset from the top of the nearby Wansfell!
Accommodation in detail
The front door opens to a large hallway that leads to the first of the King size bedrooms with ensuite shower room and the Snug with views to the garden. A large walk in drying room is an ideal place to store all your outdoor gear and walking boots before heading upstairs to explore the rest of the house.
The landing runs the length of the property. The large dual aspect lounge with Smart TV with BT TV including BT Sports with its log burning stove has large patio doors to the front and rear garden and allow direct access to the balcony.
