Enjoy the walk beside the river to Skelwith Force Waterfall, spend a day exploring the stunning scenery of the Langdale Valleys, head out onto the high Fells of the Langdale Pikes or follow in Wordsworths footsteps to Grasmere and Rydal.

Roadside parking is available nearby. Enter the cottage through the small paved front garden facing the road and the river. The porch offers ample coat handing and space for walking boots before entering through the front door. The lounge is surprisingly large for a cottage of this period and has oak floors and original beams. Relax in the two sofas in front of the feature fireplace of local slate (quarried from the one of the old local quarries) complete with cosy wood burning stove. The dining table provides a pleasant place to relax over breakfast or enjoy dinner with friends. The kitchen is modern, practical and well equipped and with a large picture window and stable door the room is bright and airy.
Heading up the narrow staircase the first floor offers a luxurious master bedroom with a beautiful king size. The second bedroom, with double bed, has a large picture window with views across the fields to the hills beyond. Off the landing there is a spacious bathroom with bath, shower cubicle, basin and WC.
To the rear of the property there is a sheltered cottage garden with small yard, terraced patio (with stone steps) and a patio furniture - an ideal place to sit and relax after a day on the fells!

This location is an obvious choice for a walking holiday in the Lake District; hike to England's highest tarn, or take on the spectacular Jake's Rake ridge as you tick off the famous Langdale Pikes; Harrison Stickle, Pike of Stickle and Loft Crag. The adjacent Wasdale and Borrowdale Valleys bring more superb routes within easy reach, and are traditional starting points for an ascent of Scafell Pike.
