We all know that two is company. It’s a cosy number, a romantic number and it’s perfect when organising a quick getaway. Autumn is the perfect time to visit the Lake District. In September, the Lake District’s high-season hubbub has subsided and the bright greens of summer are just starting to turn to the attractive russets and ambers of autumn. The Bracken on the rolling Lakeland hills is starting to gain a burnished hue and the weather is turning pleasantly mild with a dash of sunshine here and there – we might even be in for an Indian Summer if we are lucky! Now’s the time to see the Lakeland Fells in all their glory and enjoy the warm September days in peace and tranquillity.
