Start your Windermere short break with a climb up Orrest Head, from the centre of Windermere and suitable for all abilities. Millerground, off Rayrigg Road, is Windermere’s top picnic spot. If you want to head onto the lake itself, Windermere Lake Cruises are only a short mile away in Bowness.
