“Very lovely holiday cottage, convenient for walking the local area and into Grasmere village.”
The house was warm and comfortable and very clean. A couple of notable omissions were a coffee machine and a steamer set which would have been nice to have and there was not a lot of cutlery so we had to keep washing it up rather then using the dishwasher. We were told there would be a starter set of logs for the fire but there wasn't. The internet was down during our stay which was annoying especially as it was Christmas and we were looking forward to watching some movies and the tv's require internet. There is no satellite, cabe or terrestial tv as a backup if the internet fails. 3G is available so long as you have plenty of data but we didn't so couldn't use the tv's in the bedroom. The owner, was helpful in sending someone round with some dvd's for us to watch but Sykes Cottages and Lakelovers were useless and never called us back or responded in any way. Overall I would recommend this cottage as a great place to stay but maybe not during bank holidays when everything is closed.
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. I am sorry that there were issues during your stay, but I can see that we did communicate with your during your stay. We will raise the lack of log starter pack with the housekeeping team. We always recommend guests check the suitability and amenities of a property prior to booking, in order to avoid disappointment in a appliance not being provided. We are glad that you enjoyed the property and all that the area has to offer.
