Autumn has certainly settled herself in, here in the Lake District. It is a unique season of otherworldly reflections, as the great skies, lakes, woodland and mountains merge as one.

Yes, one of our favourite things about autumn in the Lakes has to be her reflections. The myriad of oranges, gold and browns are reflected perfectly on lake waters that are so still at this time of year. And it is not just the lake reflections that we love. Walk through autumn woods and low light casts shadows onto the woodland and forest floor reflecting perfectly the near-bare canopy branches above.

Colours are so much richer in autumn and the stillness gives a saturation and definition that truly thrill the senses.
