The New Lake District

Although the Lakes remain eternal and unchanged, there have been exciting cultural shifts of late.

The Lakes has become far more popular, with the ever-growing influx of visitors to the region, over 16 million each year. This growth has, in turn, spawned development in many other areas. The Lake District is now a hotbed of culinary excellence, with fine dining restaurants to be found throughout the area. Restaurants such as L’Enclume and The Samling are setting a new standard and have been awarded Michelin star status for their efforts.

There is a notable rise in the luxury market in general, for example, investment in property development has risen. This has sparked a new generation of luxury accommodation. Lakelovers are proud to be leading this with the largest selection of luxury self-catering holiday properties in the Lakes. If indeed it is a Lakes holiday that is ahead in its class that you’re looking for, visit our Luxury Cottages page where you are sure to be impressed.

The National Park

The Lake District has been protected since 1951 as a National Park of outstanding natural beauty. Any new changes in the region are cleverly married with the traditional Lake District culture, history and landscape that we so love.

This is no more evident than in some of our newest properties to join the Lakelovers portfolio. Some of which are extremely special Lakeland properties of historical importance. These have been lovingly refurbished by professional interior designers.

All our cottages across the Lakes are hand-picked for their beautiful unique style. With excellent attention to detail and thoughtful ownership, as well as in locations that we know you will fall in love with, as we do. Recent additions to our portfolio are properties located in the best places in the Lakes. Ullswater, Ambleside, Windermere, Lakeside, Bowness and the Langdales to name a few!

Here at Lakelovers, we are privileged to be custodians of some of the finest period properties in the Lake District. And we’re sure you’ll enjoy exploring these new self-catering properties and their surrounding area.
