“Overall, the lodge was okay and suited our needs as we were out exploring most of the time.”

However, if we’d planned to spend more time in the lodge, I think some of the issues would have been more noticeable. The cleanliness could definitely be improved. The floors were very dirty (you couldn’t wear white socks without them getting filthy), there was thick dust in places, and the balcony was covered in cobwebs, which was disappointing for the summer season. The lodge generally looked quite tired and in need of a spruce up. Some of the doors didn’t close properly, door shelf missing from the fridge, the bathroom walls appeared to have mould on them, and there was very little storage or shelving. The lodge was also incredibly hot when we arrived. The thermostat was reading 32°C, and it was such a sweatbox that we had to sit in the car with the air conditioning on while it cooled down. The bed was comfortable, and the lodge had Wi-Fi and a TV, but the kitchen was missing some basic essentials. There were no scissors, and the knives were so blunt that they made food preparation difficult. There were some really thoughtful touches that we appreciated. The dog bed, bowl, tennis ball and treats were a lovely surprise (although it would have been useful to know in advance as we’d packed our own). The milk, coffee and biscuits left for us were also a very welcome touch. The holiday park itself is in a beautiful location, and the on-site restaurant was excellent, with great food and friendly staff. These were definite highlights of our stay. Overall, we felt the accommodation was quite expensive for what we received. We’d happily return to the area, and even to the holiday park itself, but we’d hope to see the lodges given a good deep clean and some general maintenance and updating before booking again.
