    “Disgusting property.”

Carpets grubby and dirty. Dangerous steep stairs due to no handrails Fence panels missing in the back garden and others damaged, so the garden isn’t secure for a dog. Couldn’t close the bathroom door as it was swollen. Mattress very old and the sheets were crumpled. No door mat at the back kitchen door which meant the tiled kitchen floor was slippery. The microwave was damaged. The front carpark was a mess. Mud and red sand. Flight of steps leading up to the property not shown on the website ...

Overall totally unsuitable in its current condition to let out as a holiday home. Horrid!

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your stay. However, we do not agree with a number of the comments made in your review and feel they do not accurately reflect the condition of the property. The property is regularly cleaned and maintained, and we hold both cleaning and maintenance records to support this. The fence panel referred to had recently become displaced and, had we been made aware of this during your stay, it could have been addressed promptly. Unfortunately, no concerns were raised with us before you chose to leave after one night, which meant we were not given the opportunity to investigate or resolve any issues at the time. We take all guest feedback seriously and always review any points raised. Where improvements are required, we will take appropriate action. However, we believe this review presents a disproportionately negative view of the property and does not reflect the experience of many other guests who have enjoyed their stay. In fact, we recently received a five-star review from a guest who stayed shortly afterwards, who commented: "A nice stay, accommodation as described, plenty of room to park. Easy walk into the town centre and supermarket nearby." We appreciate that every guest's experience is different, but we are pleased that many visitors have found the property comfortable, well-presented, and enjoyable. We wish all future guests a pleasant and enjoyable stay. Property Owner

It’s well-suited to families or friends who want a straightforward, comfortable base while making the most of Cumbria’s landscapes and lively towns.

Inside, the kitchen/diner has everything you need for easy mealtimes, from an electric oven and gas hob to a washing machine to keep things ticking along nicely.

It’s a practical space for rustling up breakfast before heading out, or gathering for an evening meal after a day’s wandering.

The sitting room offers a relaxed place to unwind, with a TV offering free view, books to dip into, and a gas fire that brings a warm touch when the weather turns.

Upstairs, you’ll find three well-kept bedrooms: a king-size for a proper night’s rest, along with two singles that work well for children, friends, or anyone after their own space.

The bathroom includes a bath with shower over, basin, WC and a heated towel rail, a small detail, but a welcome one after a cool Lake District walk.

Step outside to the enclosed rear garden, complete with a patio, lawn, pond and outdoor furniture.

It’s an inviting corner for a cup of tea in the morning or something stronger as the day winds down.

With off-road parking for two cars, WiFi, and family-friendly touches like a travel cot, the essentials are well covered.

About the location

PENRITH

Keswick 17 miles; Carlisle 20 miles.

The bustling market town of Penrith, once the capital of Cumbria, enjoys a central position between the Lake District, the Westmoorland Dales and North Pennines and is ideally placed for taking in all that the region has to offer. Renowned for its wealth of specialist shops, the sandstone buildings of Penrith hide intriguing yards, lanes and alleyways, with a myriad of attractive cottages, gardens and little shops. With a wide choice of excellent pubs, hotels, restaurants and entertainment, Penrith also offers a museum, and Millennium Trails round the historic city streets.
