“I do feel slightly let down by the property booking.”

On review, I don’t actually believe the first photo of the front of the cottage is the cottage we stayed in. I was nervous booking this initially as it had no reviews, so I feel I need to leave a review to support others. On review, I don’t actually believe the first photo of the front of the cottage is the cottage we stayed in. I was nervous booking this initially as it had no reviews, so I feel I need to leave a review to support others. The property was not terrible and did have some positive elements, such as the size and the communication from Whitbarrow, but unfortunately we did feel let down by the standards of the property. It absolutely needs some TLC and could benefit from some modernization. I appreciate these are dog‑friendly properties, but we have stayed in many others and never felt anything fusty or smelly. The property didn’t have the best smell to it. I may be being over‑critical, as my partner couldn’t smell anything, but I wasn’t satisfied overall with the property. Another thing to note is that parking is on a site car park and not next to the property. This may be something we overlooked when booking, but it wasn’t what we expected when we arrived. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but I wish I had a review to read before we booked.

PENRITH

Keswick 17 miles; Carlisle 20 miles.

The bustling market town of Penrith, once the capital of Cumbria, enjoys a central position between the Lake District, the Westmoorland Dales and North Pennines and is ideally placed for taking in all that the region has to offer. Renowned for its wealth of specialist shops, the sandstone buildings of Penrith hide intriguing yards, lanes and alleyways, with a myriad of attractive cottages, gardens and little shops.
