Our second stay at Cobble Cottage.

Its a really lovely cottage that we think is in a great and quiet location, but I think not as clean as it was on our first visit. A significant amount of hair on the bathroom floor and on the shower walls, and just looking a little tired all round. Very minor but the batteries on the TV remote ran out entirely and the thermostat was flashing low battery all week.

We had a lovely stay at Cobble Cottage.

The cottage was beautifully presented, very spacious, and fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was excellent, with just a beautiful 15-minute walk into Keswick. The only downside was the low door frame. My husband is 6ft 1in and banged his head on the front door a couple of times, so taller guests should take extra care. Parking is also on a first come, first served basis, which is worth bearing in mind. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend Cobble Cottage.

Cobble Cottage suited us perfectly as a married couple, two friends and a single female.

We were lucky enough to park both cars outside the property. Easy enough to leave them where they were and get the local bus to the start of our hikes or simply start the hikes from the door. We didn't use the woodburner as it was warm enough with the onset of the heatwave although in typical Lake District fashion the heavens opened on the day of arrival - but how do you think the grass/trees and so green without it?! We didn't do any cooking as we ate out every night but it did appear that all the necessary equipment was available should you wish to do so. Only downside was that there were no spare toilet rolls and the one on the holder was already three quarters used. I understand there wouldn't be a plentiful supply but to have at least one full one on the holder plus one spare would have been helpful particularly for the day of arrival before you have a chance to go shopping. Having said that, we all praised Cobble Cottage with how it suited our needs perfectly as keen hikers.
