    “Full marks for 'getting it exactly right'.”

    Nicely sized/designed bungalow, with just the facilities needed/equipment in kitchen, without any extraneous 'stuff' that we would never use. Step down from kitchen to conservatory was oddly challenging. Some searches on Google Maps suggests a path exists at the rear of property that would be a short cut to town, but this does not exist and you HAVE to walk via Brundholme Road (not a problem for us). Rabbits may seem an odd asset, but walking back late evening amongst the semi-tame ...

The property

Brimbles takes it name from the blackberry bushes which grew in its garden.

Situated in an excellent location on a small and peaceful cul-de-sac only a ten minute walk from the centre of Keswick this property is sure to make an excellent base for exploring the Northern Lakes. There is an abundance of walks right from the door, the path to Skiddaw and Lattrigg begins nearby, and within easy reach are the shores of Derwentwater, for a low level stroll or a cruise around the lake.

Whinlatter Forest Park is just a short drive away with its off road cycle paths and quiet picnic areas. Keswick itself has everything you need, an excellent variety of shops, a good food market, plenty of restaurants, a renowned Theatre and traditional pubs.

The Keswick Leisure Pool and the excellent children's play park are close-by. Accommodation: The front door is reached down a short sloping path and steps from the driveway.

The accommodation is all on one level, off the main hallway is a comfortable lounge (flat screen TV/DVD, radio/cd player and flame effect fire) and opposite are two bedrooms, a comfortable double and a twin.

Family bathroom (bath with shower over, basin and wc). The kitchen is at the rear of the property with a small breakfast bar with steps down into the light and airy conservatory with dining table and lovely views over the surrounding hills.

The conservatory door opens out onto a small patio area,with steps into the attractive garden. Brimbles has fitted carpet throughout the bedrooms and lounge and has a cosy, comfortable feel throughout. Outside: The conservatory opens out onto the pretty garden at the rear of the property and offers a sloped lawn area with borders of mature shrubs and good views looking towards Skiddaw.

Parking in the driveway for two cars.

Bassenthwaite 7 miles, Ullswater 16.6 miles; Cockermouth 13 miles.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
