    - Mrs Kehoe,

The property

Located close to the centre of the bustling market town of Keswick, in the heart of the Lake District, Bowderstone is a much loved family home that has been beautifully finished to offer quality accommodation, with beautiful roof tops views to the mountains and a secluded patio all just a few minutes' walk from all the town's amenities. The lounge is bright and airy and offers a great place to relax, socialise with friends or family around the large dining table or to simply relax. The spacious quality kitchen is a real heart of the home with a large central island unit and access to the patio. The busy market square in the centre of the popular town of Keswick is just a five minutes' walk away and offers a fantastic array of cafes, bars and local restaurants along with a great range of local shops and the very popular, award winning weekly market selling a fantastic selection of local produce, handicrafts and much, much more. Being well situated Bowderstone not only offers a great base from which to explore the whole of the Lake District but closer to home there are a great selection of walks direct from the door offering everything from a stroll to Threlkeld to enjoy a pub lunch, sharpen your appetite before dinner with a walk up Lattrigg to see the sunset or head to the summit of Skiddaw, the Lake District's fourth highest mountain. The popular Theatre by the Lake is a great place to spend an evening and you can enjoy a cruise on Derwentwater, the “Queen of the English” Lakes. == Accommodation in detail The front door opens to a spacious hallway opening onto the bright and airy, dual aspect, lounge and dining room, with a large comfortable sofa and arm chairs ideal for relaxing with family and friends or enjoying a film on the large screen TV. The large family dining table will no doubt play host to many an evening of good food and great company. The focal point of the contemporary fitted kitchen is a large island unit, complete with bar stools, making it the ideal place for breakfast or to keep a busy chef company, who, if they do find themselves alone, can keep up to date with their favourite programme on the wall mounted television. The kitchen is well appointed with an excellent five ring gas hob, electric double oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and microwave oven. A doorway from the kitchen leads to a rear hallway with ample coat hanging and space for boots and outdoor gear and a utility area including washing machine. The back door opens from here to the rear patio. Returning to the front hallway, there are two good sized bedrooms; the first, at the front of the cottage, is furnished with a king size bed and the second, to the rear of the cottage, a double bed. Complementing these on the ground floor is a smart family bathroom with bath with a shower over, basin and WC. Stairs lead to the spacious first floor landing complete with “chill out zone”, a further TV and writing desk making it the ideal spot to catch up on e-mails or for the kids to relax. The landing offers plenty of storage with an enclosed clothes hanging area in the eves of the cottage. Off the landing are two further bedrooms, a large king size double to the front of the property and a smaller twin room to the rear both of which are complemented by a modern shower room with shower cubicle, basin and WC. Outside the property there is off road parking for up to three cars (not many cottages so close to the centre of Keswick can compete with that) and to the rear of the cottage there is a secluded and enclosed patio area with planted borders and bistro garden furniture. The owners have also, thoughtfully provided a secure shed for the storage of mountain bikes and outdoor gear. The owners provide a Cot and High Chair at the property that you can use free of charge. The Cot will require you to bring your own bedding. Location Keswick is one of the Lake District's most popular destinations. This friendly town hosts the very popular twice weekly market that has recently won the coveted “Best Outdoor Market” in the Great British Market Awards. The town also offers a fantastic array of shops offering everything from craft bakeries and local produce, antiques, crafts and much, much more. If you are looking for somewhere to eat and drink, a week just won't be long enough to sample the great range of pubs, restaurants, bistros, cafes and wine bars! For a great evening out why not visit the 100 year old Alhambra offering first class cinema entertainment in traditional surroundings or enjoy an evening at “the most beautiful and friendly theatre in Britain”, the 400 seat Theatre By The Lake on the shores of Derwentwater. Enjoy a cruise on Derwentwater, walk onto the fells; Cat Bells, Skiddaw, Coledale Horeshoe and Blencathra are all nearby, head underground at Honister Slate Mines, enjoy mountain biking in Whinlatter Forest; explore the exquisite beauty of Borrowdale and the Scafell range. For day trips throughout the Lake District, Ullswater is a short drive away offering lake cruises, great walking and the beautiful Aira Force Waterfall, Buttermere and Crummock Water offer sublime scenery. Ashness Bridge and Surprise View situated above the Borrowdale Valley should not be missed; nor should the unspoilt village of Watendlath.
