    “Great location, size, and comfort.”

    Linens were all nice. Parking was easy to understand. Only issue was got water ran out during one day, resulting in a cold shower post-hike. If the 'boost' on the water heater had been made clearer beforehand, would be 5*

Centrally located in Keswick, this fabulous two bedroomed maisonette is an ideal base from which to explore the town and the surrounding area.

We are sure that guests will return to Castlerigg year after year. Keswick has a wealth of visitor attractions on hand to keep the whole family amused including The Pencil Museum, Puzzling Place, Mining Museum, Hope Park with golf, crazy golf and putting, Fitz Park with the River Greta running through (great for picnics) and the shores of Derwentwater.

The majestic mountain Skiddaw is only a few minutes away and an abundance of fantastic walks are available directly from the door which is an ideal way to take advantage of the picturesque scenery circumscribing Keswick. Castlerigg is a first floor maisonette accessed by a short flight of external stairs and is situated just off Keswick town centre in the historic Packhorse Courtyard home to a selection of boutique style shops and a traditional Lakeland Inn.

Ideal for those who wish to enjoy the town amenities without having to use a car. The apartment has electric heaters and comprises: Lounge/diner with TV, DVD player and CD/radio with iPod docking station and views out onto Packhorse Courtyard. Kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, washer/dryer, fridge with ice box and freezer. Double bedroom. Family bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC. Second floor: Exceptionally spacious bedroom with galleried window overlooking the living area and views of Skiddaw.

King sized bed and single day bed incorporating a full sized single mattress; this room can therefore be used as a master bedroom or as a twin.

TV, DVD player and two adult sized bean bags making this an ideal kids chill out zone.

Bassenthwaite 7 miles, Ullswater 16.6 miles; Cockermouth 13 miles.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
