“Lovely cottage.”

The bedrooms were well furnished and the beds were all comfortable. The kitchen had everything needed. The lounge was lovely. The windows in the lounge and main bedroom were very difficult to open and had to be wedged to stay open. For an older couple this would be very difficult to do. The property was very warm almost stuffy so having a fan provided was very welcome. The parking whilst tight wasn’t too much of a problem. It would be useful if the spaces were fully marked out and painted on the ground. The difficulty of trying to speak to someone about a matter after our trip was a little worrying. I don’t feel confident if we had run into a major issue like missing keys or something during our trip we would have been able to get hold of anyone in good time. The number given was a landline and mostly automated. It kept repeating I should go online to resolve any problems we had. I had to leave a message and wait for someone to call me back. This wasn’t an issue this time, as our holiday had finished but imagine urgently needed assistance and there is no one available. To be honest that lack of support available would stop me booking again.

Suggest fixing the windows or provide a small fan. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

“Another comfortable and quiet week at Derwent Haven.”

The car parking space is a bit tight being next to a garage but free parking in the centre of Keswick a short stroll from shops,bus station, lake and parks is holiday gold.

Thanks for your feedback and glad it was a perfect location for you. The advantage of the property is it has a private parking space in the centre of Keswick. However, it does rely on everyone parking considerately. I recommend reversing into the space after unpacking so you can park up against the garage which gives more room to get in and out of the car. “We found the property to be in a excellent position.”

We were concerned it might be noisy and took ear plugs but it was really quiet even during the day hardly noticed the traffic with the secondary double glazing. The flat was lovely and well appointed and comfortable, we didn't cook anything but it looked like everything would be there if we wished to. We would definitely would stay there again if we return to Keswick. We were very impressed with the after care by Sykes after we locked the keys inside the flat, from the helpline to the man who came in about 90 minutes to let us in. Sykes called the next day to check everything was alright. We couldn't recommend our stay highly enough thanks to all concerned

“The property couldn't be located in a better position just off the high street, a quiet location in the centre of Keswick.”

It took us a while to locate the parking space. A clearer indication on arrival would be beneficial. A perfect holiday location which we highly recommend and we will certainly return in the future.

“We had a lovely stay at Derwent Haven and it had everything we needed for our stay.”

Particularly appreciated the tuppawware boxes for our picnics and we then fell into comfy beds each night! The only thing that we would have appreciated was a fan... The weather was lovely and warm while there and it made it very hot at night!

“Window in main bedroom wouldn't stay open.”

Had to use the bread board to keep it open! Didn't use much hot water (due to using dishwasher and electric shower) but on the one occasion we had a bath, the pump for the hot water appeared to be struggling after a while (cavitating?) and the hot water either came out of the tap in pulses or not at all. Beds very comfortable and great to have cling film and tin foil, dishwasher tablets etc provided. Thank you!

Thanks for your feedback. We’ll monitor the hot water but it worked fine when we stayed ourselves a few weeks ago. The window will need replacing eventually but will need doing as part of the whole block. Glad you found the extras like cling film, dishwasher tablets useful. “Excellent, great apartment, in a very convenient location.”

Close to the shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes, easy to walk to the lake and fells, near the bus station for getting further afield. The apartment was peaceful, comfortable and spacious. Clean and well maintained. It has a good shower and bath, and tv and wifi, for unwinding after a day’s walking. Derwent Haven is a great place to stay, I’ll definitely be back.

Enjoying a central location, with fascinating attractions just paces away, this pretty dwelling is the perfect holiday for four. Upon arrival, find your designated parking space, where you can manoeuvre your belongings inside with ease and enjoy the refreshing countryside air on your face. Entering the property, you will find a kitchen to the left perfect to prepare home-cooked meals, make use of the electric oven, hob and microwave, as well as the washer/dryer, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. Stepping through the property, discover the lounge/diner which is well-presented in warm shades creating a relaxing ambiance, with a sumptuous sofa and armchair to relax on in-front of the Smart TV. Resting in the corner of the lounge is a traditional dining table, offering four chairs where you can tuck-into a tasty meal or play a board game or cards. The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit.
