Fell Sweep

A great space; a bit tight for things like cooking and eating for 6 of us (parents plus adult / high teenage children) but not uncomfortably so.

Kitchen was well equipped, hot water plentiful, bedrooms and linen comfortable. Very handy location, whilst not the prettiest in the world, who really cares about that when within 2 minutes you're in Fitz Park or 5 minutes you're down by the lake.

Me and my family enjoyed having a comfortable space to return to after full days out.

I particularly enjoyed having an en suite and lots of storage. I used the courtyard to read and have my coffee each morning. That was a real treat! My only point of critique would be I was unable to locate a washing line. As a family of 5 it was great to be able to make use of the washing machine but struggled for hanging space. A great stay though and I would wholeheartedly recommend this sweet cottage.

Fell Sweep is ideally situated: close to the shops (a 10 minute walk) but far enough away to feel comfortably removed from Keswick centre.

There were four of us so we had more than enough space but it might be somewhat tight in the lounge/diner if there were six. For those of you who google map the location and then notice the garage nearby on street view, all I can say is that we never disturbed at any time of the day. Only downside was that the DVD was broken: not a big deal and in fairness Sykes came the day we mentioned it but no replacement for our remaining four days. More than competitively priced when compared to the two-bedroomed cottages we have stayed at on our previous visits. It is the only property we would consider returning to!

Great location, really quiet, comfy bed in the main bedroom, showers good, nice to have two bathrooms and a downstairs loo.

Made frequent use of the gas fire which warmed up the house instantly and was easy to handle. Felt a bit let down by the cleanliness of the property (breadcrumbs and hair under the big sofa, plates and pots not too clean, windows not clean), there was one (!) dishwasher tab and the dining area is a bit tight (considering that the house is meant for 6 people). Normally when we book a property there is a little welcome pack (what harm do a pint of milk and some biscuits do?) and I did miss a guest book.

We have been visiting Fell Sweep for almost ten years, it feels like our home away from home - clean, comfy, convenient and well equipped with plenty of hot water and comfy beds.

We will be back again next February (all being well).

Good location. Near to all shops etc within 10 minutes walk, but far enough away to be peaceful and quiet. Parking space next to house is good, but plenty of street parking available. Well equipped with everything we needed. Warm and comfortable property. Nice to see the owner had responded to a previous comment about the ensuite shower, and replaced the shower head. (A shower caddy would handy in shower cubicle, but still a great improvement). Very pleased to find a 'Welcome Gift' on arrival. We enjoyed the local beers and jams. Thank you. We will definitely stay here again and strongly recommend it.

Fell Sweep was the perfect accommodation for our long weekend.

The house was spotless, simply but beautifully furnished, bright clean bedrooms with plenty of storage, a fully equipped kitchen, we wanted for nothing. Such a warm welcoming place to stay.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay in this property.

Everything worked and was easy to use. Very comfortable beds. All the rooms were attractive and clean. Good location and having an off road parking place was a bonus. Downstairs loo useful, as was the hallway for storing day sacks, boots and coats. There were 3 of us- my husband and I and my brother and we chose the property for its extra bathroom and general space. It sleeps 6 people but the downstairs living area could be very cosy for that number of adults especially. We would definitely book this property again.

The property information stated 1 king-size bed, 1 double and 1 twin room but it was 1 king and 2 twin rooms.

We coped and the property was lovely but it would have been better if it had been as advertised. If it matched the information as per the beds we would definitely go back to stay as location and property were lovely.

Lovely property and having a parking space is a real bonus.

Stayed last year at same place as it so well appointed.

It seemed the cleaning staff cut a few corners this year, dirt under dinings chairs, dusty areas etc, but toilets and kitchen and all main areas were clean.

The house is clean and well kitted out with kitchen utensils, comfortable and well maintained.

We did leave a note but in case you don't get the feedback, a light in the lounge and needs the bulb replacing plus another one flickers. In the house bathroom the door lock needs attention and for safety reasons there should be a rail to hold onto to get into the bath/shower. There were two small towels short for 6 persons but as there were only four of us we were ok.

A great place to stay.

Very handy for the town. Kitchen very well equipped. Sofas comfortable. Beds very comfy. Great to have a downstairs loo with large hall and shoe/coat storage. A dedicated parking space is a welcome advantage. Great selection of games as well. Will be booking again.

We had a great stay in this cottage for the Keswick Mountain Festival and the weather was outstanding!

Great location with the bonus of a private parking space.Clean and comfortable had anything we needed,would definitely stay here again.

The property is ideally located and has parking which is great.

There were niggles which could be easily sorted, like the dishwasher shelf, which has been mentioned by others. Also the bed linen is polycotton. I would expect all bedding for this star rating property to be 100% cotton. There were no little things like a couple of teabags and a pint of milk which make you feel a little bit more cared for in your stay. King bed very comfortable. As were most of the singles.

.. still broken. Television small and basic system. Dvd player broken. Instructions for the door on the fire need to be more obvious. Bed very comfortable. Heating system very efficient. Good position for town. Bedroom would be better with vertical blinds for privacy. The property is not big enough for 6 people.

Clean and plenty of the little things, towels, dish cloths etc. that make a house stay that little bit better. Would definitely book again.

We had a lovely stay at this property.

Kitchen had all the utensils we required and enough storage for our food items. There were only 5 of us so it was comfortable. I think if we'd had an extra person it might have felt a bit squashed. The property had only one parking space but the other 2 cars with our party were able to park easily a bit further along the road so was never an issue. Great base for exploring the local area. Easy access to shops and the mountains. We have really enjoyed our time here.

Clean, well cared for property with everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

We found the large hallway with wood floor helpful; coming back wet or muddy from walks we weren’t worried about getting back in without ruining carpets etc. and were able to easily keep it clean. We were particularly grateful there was parking as finding a space on the road in the area looked to be difficult. Would recommend.

The top oven did not work and the fire instruction were not clear.

Lovely house in Keswick, great location and it was nice to have off road parking by the side of the house.

The house was clean and comfortable and the kids loved the bedrooms. The only comment I would make is that one of the dishwasher drawers was a little temperamental! We had a great stay, thank you.

The property is well placed and the car space invaluable.

The house is clean and tidy, bright, comfortable and has plenty of kitchen equipment should you want to cook. The little rear garden gets plenty of sun and has a little table and chairs. The living flame fire in the lounge was lovely, the sofas are very comfy. It is only about a 5 minute walk into town, a couple of minutes walk to Fitz Park. The twin bedrooms are bright and light. The bathroom is lovely with a huge bath, light, bright and spacious. The en-suite bedroom is bright, nicely decorated with plenty of storage, including a large chest of drawers and a wardrobe with plenty of hangers. I found the mattress on the bed to be quite uncomfortable as it is very firm/hard and had to use a duvet from one of the single beds to make a mattress topper. The shower is very powerful which is great, however you cannot adjust the shower head which is fine if you’re 6’ tall, I’m not! Apart from the couple of gripes, really enjoyed our stay, would still book again and recommend to others.

Great location. The matresses were uncomfortable, could do with new matresses or comfortable padded toppers.
