Howe Keld 4 First floor

Howe Keld 4 is a delightful property and we were very happy with the week we spent there.

As well as being centrally located it has been very tastefully and carefully decorated and equipped, and we had everything we needed. It was hard to believe that it has been in use for several years: it is in first-class decorative order, and spotlessly clean, and gave the impression of having only very recently been done up. That each couple had our own ensuite bath and/or shower meant that we could both enjoy one another's company on the top floor, where the kitchen area and sitting room are located, and also retire privately to our own room when we wanted to. We'd love to come back, but sadly the week we would like to book in 2027 has already been taken: which is not really surprising!

Lovely apartment with great views.

Comfy bed and all the usual amenities. Easy walking distance from supermarket, town centre and the Keswick Convention. Hidden drawer for the utensils was only found after contacting the owner and housekeeper! A separate bin for recycling would help otherwise there is a tendecy for everything to go into general waste. Multiple flights of quite steep stairs will not suit everyone.

The property is in a great location and was perfect for our stay.

This was our first time at Howe Keld 4 and it is beautifully furnished. It was very clean with lovely comfy beds and everything we needed. The welcome tray was appreciated. We would definitely book this property if we visit Keswick again.

Could not have asked for a better location.

Loved the fact the bedrooms each have a bathroom i specifically went to hike and was accompanied by my brother, so 100% privacy here. Beds comfortable. Dishwasher was s little hit and miss.- might need maintenance. A few more dishcloths would be good. Was a bit inconvenient having to buy washing powder as came by train and so ended up wasting a lot as not to leave anything in apartment. Foil/soap/toilet roll/kitchen roll/salt/pepper and milk etc much appreciated. Would love to stay again.

A lovely well maintained apartment.

Very convenient for Keswick but with walking straight from the door. Very comfy beds and good powerful showers. Well equipped kitchen with good quality appliances. We found the sofa uncomfortable but that’s personal taste. We would definitely recommend the apartment and happily stay again.

Second time staying in Howe Keld.

Angela - the caretaker keeps the properties looking immaculate and is a friendly, helpful person. Well equipped, comfortable flat with an excellent power shower, big comfortable beds and every you need for a relaxing holiday . A lovely welcome tray too- thank you. The central location is great for shops, pubs, the bus station and the parking permit for the town car park makes your holiday hassle free.

This is the second time we have used Apt 4.

It's good for us because its very convenient to the town centre. But also close to the lake. Also lots of natural light in the apartment with great views.

Our family typically camps in and around the Keswick / Northern Lake District region and spend our summer holidays enjoying the outdoors in our favorite part of the country!

The birth of our second child in January made us look at other options for accommodation this time around, less canvas and more home comforts and convenience. We splashed out on Howe Keld 4 based purely on the location and the pictures provided on the Sykes website for our 2024 family holiday - upon arrival we were totally blown away by how stunning the property was, so much more spacious and well furnished than we were anticipating … the property just goes on and on and on! We were pleased to be greeted by the enormous hallway which allowed us to immediately unpack our kit for the week, 2 adults and 2 young children - this may seem trivial but made life much easier not having to struggle with 2 little ones in tow - with that taken care of we could park the car, forget about it for the week and get on with enjoying our holiday. Sizeable bedrooms and beautifully finished bathrooms were also a treat and really affirmed that we'd picked the right place to stay and we'd be in for an enjoyable and comfortable week. Upon arrival we did experience an issue with one of the bedroom windows - however we reported this to Angela in housekeeping who dealt with this for us immediately, and was also lovely! The location of Howe Keld 4 for us couldn’t have been better - minutes from Derwent water, Keswick High Street and not to mention the views of Catbells at the front and Skiddaw at the rear … this was truly the base camp we were hoping for! 100% we will be rebooking.

From the moment you enter the building it oozes character of the Lake District.

We had a great stay for a week in Flat 4, it is really well designed and comfortable with everything you need, it is very well located for central Keswick with easy access to the hills and surrounding areas.

The views from the front bedroom are stunning. We would highly recommend this luxurious flat to anyone considering a trip here.

Fully equipped with everything needed to enjoy a week (or more) away. The accommodation is also ideally located, within walking distance of the Lake, the Theatre, the town and supermarkets. Perfect!

6) and it didn’t disappoint! How do you improve upon perfect location, beautiful, stylish, spacious accommodation and views to die for? Yet within a couple of minutes’ walk of fabulous shops and restaurants and outdoor space - and only 5-10 mins from Derwentwater. Loved the huge beds and private entrance. Had everything we needed. Lots of stairs but we didn’t mind that. Also no garden/private outdoor space but you have beautiful outdoor spaces 5 mins walk away (we had fabulous weather and took a picnic blanket to the shores of Derwentwater most evenings). Great communication with the management too. Highly recommended, you honestly can’t go wrong.

We’ve stopped a couple of times now at Howe Keld.

It’s a really lovely apartment & is very spacious set over a few floors. The views are fantastic over the hills & the location is great. We will definitely be back!

Excellent accommodation, clean, tidy and well equipped.

Angela the representative on site was very helpful, especially as we had a medical issue in the middle of the night. Very well positioned for the town and amenities too. Would recommend and we will visit again. Thank you.

We had everything we needed there. The decor was very modern and we felt very comfortable staying there. We would definitely recommend this apartment.

The property was absolutely perfect in every way.

Extremely clean and comfortable with lots of special Christmas touches which were much appreciated as our stay was over Christmas week. The only slight negative was the comfort of the sofa and chair. I appreciate it was in keeping with the contemporary decor but, after a long walk in inclement weather, the low furniture with a low back was difficult to ‘chill out’ on. However this is perhaps more of a personal issue from an aging customer

The building has been renovated from a B&B (which we have stayed in previously) into apartments.

The owners have done a wonderful job and don’t appear to have scrimped on anything. Easy to self cater if you wanted to with plenty of equipment. Comfy beds, good bathrooms, really good soft furnishings that gives it a homely feeling. All of good quality. The suite sadly was very uncomfortable (sorry), it was low and those with mobility issues would struggle to sit and stand as some of us did. Others may well indeed find it ok. We had a couple of problems whilst there, one of the showers wasn’t working properly and the heating didn’t appear to be working. There is an on-site manager Angela who is lovely and had the Plummer out the same day. The shower was fixed with a new part but the pump had gone on the heating and a new part had to be ordered but everything was sorted the following day. The owners brought us some electric radiators to use very quickly until the problem was rectified. Able to park outside front door and off car. Parking disc free for one car in public car park very close to building and we just bought another one from the Council online which was reasonably priced as we had two cars. Thanks who Angela who sorted everything out and to the owners responding quickly. We will definitely return.

Lovely apartment with amazing views and less than 5 mins to the centre of Keswick.

Very comfortable and well equipped. Lovely big comfy beds . We had a fantastic week despite the weather trying it’s best to spoil it. Angela, the house manager, was an absolute diamond , nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Keswick.

A very comfortable and well equipped apartment with great views.

Beds really comfortable and bathrooms excellent. Kitchen equipment very good and had everything we needed to cook breakfast and a few evening meals. Really enjoyed relaxing in the apartment in the evening and so peaceful at night even though Keswick was really busy during the day. Loved the decor and paintings. Parking in the central car park worked out well as we just walked around Keswick for our shopping and to the lake and only needed the car to go out to walk elsewhere. Minor point- the sash window facing Catbells in the kitchen/dining room was difficult and heavy to open and close (could do with a bit of adjusting) Also some really simple instructions on how to use the oven and how to get the grill to work would be great. We had a great stay and we would love to come back.

We absolutely loved this property and will book for half term next year if available.

The facilities were perfect…drying room for our wetsuits and bike store for our bikes were just brilliant. The owners have thought of everything The views from every window were spectacular Only negative point but really only meant constructively…we had assumed that as we had booked as a family of four with two boys that the beds would have been made up as singles…this was rectified after one night but the lady who rearranged the beds said that there may be a charge. I wouldn’t expect to be charged for this. Can’t wait to go back next year our family collectively agreed that it was the best accommodation. We loved the artwork and have since been on line to order similar prints.

Just Perfect - great location - 4* - we’ll be back.
