Resting just a mere stone's throw away from the centre of Keswick and enjoying captivating views of the surrounding fells is Latch Cottage, an exceptional self-catering property, boasting bags of character.

The cottage is a great find for couples seeking an action-packed getaway to an area renowned for its great walking opportunities and pretty towns and villages that cannot be missed. After soaking up your surroundings, enter the property where you will first notice the characterful beams that frame the space and complement the plush furnishings and contemporary fixtures.

During the winter months, light up the fire and relish in some relaxation time as you settle down on the sofa to delve into a good book or catch up on your favourite TV shows.

Joining the open-plan living space is a compact kitchen, a contemporary space filled with everything you could possibly need to cater tasty meals that can be enjoyed at the dining table.

Take the time to simply watch the world go by, enjoy quality catch-up time with your partner and pop open a bottle of fizz and toast to a great holiday in the Lakes.

During the summer evenings, take your drinks outdoors to the shared garden, where seating offers a space to sit to catch the final glimpses of sunshine before heading to bed.

Upstairs, you will find a spacious king-size bed as well as a TV, which is ideal for those lazy Sunday mornings.

Completing the interior is the bathroom, featuring a shower over bath, basin, and WC.

After an adventure-filled day Latch Cottage has the convenience of a boot room, with access to/from the backdoor you can make use of the drying rack for wet clothes and boots, a washing machine/tumble dryer, a freezer, and Belfast sink for washing muddy gear.

There is also ample room to safely secure bikes for peace of mind.

If you can tear yourself away from this charming bolthole, venture into the town centre, where you will find a large market square, home to an award-winning market and a fantastic array of shops, ranging from craft bakeries, butchers, and supermarkets, so you are certain to find what you need!

The town also plays host to a plethora of eateries, including pubs, restaurants, bistros, cafes and wine bars and for further evening entertainment, you can catch a film at the Theatre By The Lake on the shores of the Derwentwater.

To keep you busy whilst here, lace up your hiking boots and challenge yourself to a hike up Skiddaw or one of the other surrounding fells.

Alternatively, spend your afternoons on a cruise upon the lake before stopping off at the National Trust owned property, Derwent Island House.

Brush up on the local history further by visiting the Honister Slate Mines, the Castlerigg Stone Circle, and the charming Keswick Museum, each one promising a great day out.

Once you have completed the surrounding area, venture to the towns of Ambleside and Bowness-on-Windermere, as well as Ullswater, home to the Aira Force Waterfall. With so much to see and do, Latch Cottage is a great base for a fun holiday with your partner.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
