Yet another great stay we’re here for 2 weeks this time great weather lots of lovely walks met owners they are lovely people will be booking again for next year

Latch Cottage was lovely.

Equipped by someone who’d really thought about it. The location was excellent- parking could have been an issue but wasn’t because of the permit arrangements. The garden was a lovely place to sit and so useful with the dog. We’re usually in Keswick with other family members but will certainly be back if it’s just two of us.

Lovely little cottage, perfect for a couple and our small dog.

It’s in a great location short walk from everything, we loved staying there.

The accommodation was lovely and especially comfortable during recent hot weather.

The owner was very helpful with regard to car parking permit and the welcome pack was lovely. A great location and we’d happily visit again.

We thought it was a very good place with two caveats, the stair down to the cellar/washroom should have a guard to stop our little dog from falling down, the lighting in the living room was too dark.

Otherwise enjoyable location and amenities.

Just returned from a week at Latch Cottage.

Beautiful property in a wonderful location, the cottage had everything we needed and we'll definitely be back.

We are from the States and this was our second visit to the Latch Cottage.

We don’t travel with a car and find the train and buses to work fine from this location. The cottage is quiet but no more than a short walk to stores and pubs. The owners are very responsive and helpful.

Fabulous cottage, Quite small, Quirky, but Quality!

great location, 5 minutes into town, 5 minutes to the lake, The owners of Latch cottage provide everything? .. two smart TV's, Netflix! ... on arrival milk, tea, coffee, biscuits, wine, free parking provided at both main car parks, lovely walks from the door,what more could you want!! our Labrador Holly wants to come back!

We had the most wonderful stay at Latch Cottage in the heart of Keswick.

So lovely to tick off a few Wainwrights right from the cottage front door and then straight into one of the cosy pubs nearby. We'll happily love to come back in

A lovely cosy cottage and very central, with shops and a great pub less than a minutes walk away.

Really nice communal garden which was perfect for my dog. Owner was very helpful when I had a concern about the hot water, with a plumber being dispatched within hours! Stocked with essentials for arrival including plenty of fuel for the log burner, essential at Christmas! Even the Christmas decorations were taken care of. A lovely, cosy cottage, really enjoyed my syay:)

We had a lovely, reasonably relaxing time despite the weather.

The cottage is ideal for a couple (plus dog). The facilities are good and comfortable and the cottage is ideally located near to the town centre. Having the car park permit also made life easier as there is very limited parking available in Keswick and the Central Car Park was only a couple of minutes away. For those with a dog there are an endless number of walks from the cottage with lots of different variety. As it was winter but more wet than cold coming back to a wood burning stove was a plus as it took no time at all to heat up the cottage. We loved it and hope to return again.

Another great visit to Latch Cottage.

Lovely to use the log burner and plenty of wood provided for our stay. Another welcome pack for our arrival and tea, coffee & milk in the fridge which is appreciated after a long journey. Such a great location for the town, walks and neighbouring areas. We will definitely stay again!

A lovely welcoming cosy cottage in a perfect location, ideal for the town centre and walks straight from the door, the rear garden is a bonus in the town, as is the parking permit.

Would recommend and stay again.

Good quality accommodation really enjoyed are stay here lovely little touches on arrival like tea coffee sugar milk in fridge dog bowls down stairs in boot room bed was very comfortable could not fault it stayed in a few places in Keswick and say it’s one of the best will be booking again for next

Cracking little cottage.

Perfect location to explore the Lake District and less than 2 min walk into the heart of Keswick. We found the lake car park better and less busy that the central car park to leave the car in.

We had a really enjoyable stay.

The cottage was well sited within easy walking distance of the lakeside and town centre, though one-way streets made it a bit tricky to find by car. There is no parking directly outside but a 2-hour disk area (disk provided) is close by and the council parks, where we could park free, were not far away. Actually because of the excellent local bus service we didn't use our car at all! On arrival everything was well prepared and felt (and smelt) clean. There was a pleasant welcome message and gift and a brochure of useful information about the cottage and the town was provided. The property is on three floors connected by narrow steep staircases that could be challenging for some. From the lowest (utility/boot room) floor which is fairly rough and ready we could access the delightful small garden that was shared with neighbouring properties. Rugged cushions for the bench would have been useful. The middle floor, entered through the front door, was neatly arranged with a sitting/dining area that was comfortably furnished (though the "dining" table was a wee bit small for comfort). The adjoining small kitchen was basic but clean and adequately equipped, though it looked a bit rough around the sink where the wooden worktop had some cosmetic water damage. From the visitors' book we got the impression that unlike ourselves, most people ate out, but for self-caterers a few more glasses, mugs etc. would allow longer between washing-up sessions. Upstairs the bedroom was a reasonable size with a comfortable double bed. In the bright adjoining bathroom everything worked (we chose to use the excellent shower rather than the slightly elderly and less inviting bath). Overall we were very pleased to have chosen Latch Cottage which certainly met our expectations - clean, cosy and convenient - and we hope to be able to stay in it again on another occasion.

A superb little cottage right in the heart of Keswick.

Beautifully presented with a lovely welcome pack which was much appreciated! Our 3rd time staying in Keswick but this has been our favourite rental and we will definitely be back!

We loved our time at Latch Cottage.

It was the ideal location to enjoy Keswick and the surrounding areas. No onsite parking wasn't ideal for us but the electronic permit allows you to use the surrounding public carparks. The only comment I have is that the garden is not totally secure for dogs as there is a gap in the fence by the shed and the metal gate is often left open by the bin collectors. All in all a very good experience.

Latch cottage was in an excellent location, very clean and some very nice little touches for our stay , everything you need was provided and the owner kept in touch with all the requirements regarding the parking etc , my only reason for the 4* not 5 the bed was very hard maybe a topper would make it a little more comfortable I appreciate everyone is different but we found it a bit uncomfortable and the window in the bathroom could do with privacy screen added to the window , it has a blind which does help but my personal preference would be helpful if was even half way up the window , bit everything else was great and I would definitely book again.

Fantastic stay at Latch cottage, I can’t say anything that is negative at all !

We loved the excellent Location of the cottage to all amenities that we would require, I didn’t do any cooking as we ate in the local pubs and cafes surrounding the cottage. My car never moved all week so much to see and do around Keswick . My poor dogs paws were so tired .

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We found it very helpful to have instructions about the appliances (being from the States). The location was perfect, close to bus station and shops and pubs. And the Latch Cottage was charming; it added to our holiday pleasure.

Lovely little cottage, just right for two people.

Well equipped for our needs. Great to have washing up liquid & surface spray provided, and a few washing machine tablets, along with Olive oil, salt & pepper, sugar and a few coffee & tea sachets. Plus a bottle of wine, biscuits, jam/lemon curd and milk - all very welcome! The stairs are steep & narrow, and doorways are low - which we were aware of when we booked so this wasn't a problem. The whole cottage was very clean and seemed well maintained. The dining & living room furniture are not the same as the photos on the website so these need updating. The table and chairs we had were not as nice, and the sofa & arm chair seemed smaller. Different rug as well. But there was a footstool which was an added bonus. Overall we had a lovely stay and would definitely consider coming back. It's a 2 minute walk to the town centre and the lake, with some great walks from the front door including Walla Crag which has amazing views.

Excellent location.

Perfect for a couple with a dog. Boot room very useful. If you are tall, mind your head through the doorways ! Very cosy. Will return.

The property location was the best and the accommodation was spot on , If I had to pick a fault it would be the heating in the bathroom was none existent and this time of the year it was very cold.

But apart from that it was very nice.

The cottage was cozy and warm with all the necessary facilities. It's well situated which meant it was easy to go out for walks or pop quickly to the shop. Would definitely come back!

Cosy well equipped and maintained cottage, excellent quiet location only a few hundred metres from centre of Keswick.

Loading & unloading of the car can be done outside and Parking permit included allows parking in the main car parks located within a few minutes walk, great communication from the owners on this. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Latch Cottage.

Details of the cottage, and communication with the owners were very good.

The cottage was easy to find and well-presented. It had most facilities required although no bread bin and no egg cups. The towel rail in the bathroom had electrical and water connections but was not on and there was no obvious way of switching it on. I moved the airer from the utility room on the lower ground floor to the bathroom to ensure that towels could be aired. On arrival, soon found that the plug hole in the bath was restricted and water was only going down very slowly. After consultation with the owner, I bought some chemical drain cleaner and left it in situ over night - this cured the problem. This problem should have been obvious to the previous occupier of the cottage, and presumably wasn't picked up during the cleaning of the cottage at changeover time. A few days later, I awoke to find no hot water. I contacted the owner again and he arranged for a plumber to fix the problem but this wasn't until the next morning. On my last day, I woke again up to find no hot water and the gas boiler displayed the same fault code. So out of seven mornings in the cottage, only had hot water on four of those. I would have thought that a service contract should be in place to fix such a problem rapidly and correctly.

Swell designed small cottage providing good facilities on a compact space.

Comfortable and well maintained. Although it fronts onto a road traffic noise was not intrusive.

Would have been nice to have had more less chunky mugs.

Also instructions on how the microwave works but overall a lovely characterful cottage in an excellent location.

Good location in Keswick - great base for walks. A very homely feel to it. The extra touches much appreciated - wine, biscuits and bathroom toiletries.

Waste pipe in bath was not draining properly, otherwise everything fine and good facilities.

Nice to receive complimentary wine biscuits and milk.

Everything you could want from a holiday cottage in a perfect location for access to all amenities wouldn’t stay anywhere else now when we’re visiting Keswick

Latch Cottage had everything you would need for a self catering holiday plus lots of personal touches such as welcome gifts, books etc. Great location too, would love to return.

Latch Cottage was cute and cosy.

The Cottage was very clean and warm. The bed was lovely and comfortable, had a great sleep. The kitchen was well equipped including tea & coffee bags and milk in the fridge! Also a lovely bottle of wine, biscuits and jams on our arrival. The location is fantastic too, less than 1 minute walk to the pub and town. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely recommend Latch Cottage. Thank you

Perfect location & a beautiful cottage! It was Pluto's first time in the lakes, after a long walk his tail would wag as he arrived back at Latch Cottage!
