Little Hallgarth, is a pretty, two-bedroom cottage within easy walking distance of the bustling market town of Keswick. The cottage has been lovingly and skilfully refurbished by the owners, who continually strive to make their guest’s stay as perfect as possible. Ideal for a family or two couples.
Leave your outdoor gear in the hallway and step into your delightful open plan lounge and dining area with attractive living flame gas fire in feature surround and pleasant views over the garden. Find your fully fitted and well-equipped shaker style kitchen in cream and your elegant glass dining table with decorative metal chairs placed nearby. Step through the glass door here and walk out onto the garden to listen to the soothing sound of the river nearby. Climb the stairs to find two pretty bedrooms: a twin bedroom and a double bedroom, both with views over the garden. The family power shower room is decorated in a retro baroque style. The whole house has been tastefully decorated with colours accented by the soft furnishings. Keswick offers specialist shops, excellent restaurants, cafes and pubs, market days twice a week, a renowned theatre, well-loved cinema and much more. Walk from the centre of Keswick, through Hope Park to the shore of beautiful Derwentwater, have a bite to eat at the Theatre by the Lakes Café, then enjoy a scenic cruise. You will have a choice of many walking trails right from your doorstep, from low-level circular walks to more adventurous hikes up to glorious high peaks. Walk up to lovely Catbells, Skiddaw or Latrigg, known as Keswick’s own fell. So much to see and do with a stay at Little Hallgarth.

A lovely cottage, comfortable and tastefully furnished, with a homely feel.
A lot of thought has gone into presenting it, with quality furnishings etc and lots of good artwork on the walls. It is ideally situated with just a short walk through Fitz Park into the centre of Keswick and very close to the rail trail to Threlkeld.

Lovely cozy cottage 2 mins walk to Fitz Park 5 min into town.
Beautifully decorated with modern kitchen and appliances. Throughly chilled there. Loved the sound of the river behind the property.I got wise with the parking. Finally got a space and walked everywhere. We have a Guide dog and felt perfectly safe for him in the garden Overall I would defo stay again! We come up to the lakes 4/5 times a year. But first time staying at Keswick. And bonus we had good weather

Lovely cottage in a great location to be just able to park up and explore.
Parking is very busy immediately on the road but we managed to park closer after the weekend had passed. The cottage was very clean and we loved the powerful shower. We didn’t get on with the electric heating unfortunately, we didn’t want to interfere with the program settings but it was a bit too chilly for us.

Overall a great holiday cottage, perfect location, a couple of minutes walk to the park and a few minutes into Keswick.
It's a cosy cottage, with a small enclosed garden, would maybe benefit from a taller gate. The cottage has everything you need, the only thing missing was there was only one champagne flute not a major issue but as we were there over Christmas we did have champagne. The decor is quirky, lots of fabulous picture and a huge choice of books. My only criticism is we didn't find the bed comfortable, it is very soft as are the pillows but this would not stop us returning. We had a fabulous stay. Our dog loved watching the rabbits on an evening and early morning.

For the bed, we have added a mattress topper to give maximum flexibility as previous guests found it slightly firmer than they would like. Fantastic Cottage, Fantastic Location, Fantastic Stay!
We stayed at Little Hallgarth Cottage for 4 nights from 30/11/2025 until 04/12/2025. This was our first visit however it will not be our last. Upon walking through the door the cottage felt warm and cosy, and the owners had dressed the cottage for Christmas which was done lovely. The cottage is extremely well equipped and has a lovely enclosed garden, which was great for our dog. You could't wish for a better location. Just a short walk (10 minutes) through the fabulous Fitz Park takes you into Keswick town where you have the delightful Derwentwater and lots of great walks. I can highly recommend this fabulous cottage and we will be booking again very soon.

The owner provided everything we needed making Little Hallgarth feel like home from home. Although the weather turned really cold the property was quite warm enough for us, although the storage heater in the living room didn't come on, the lovely electric heater was brilliant. The artwork, decor and attention to detail incl. the smart TV and hairdryer all added to our overall comfort. The very short walk through lovely Fitz Park into the town was an additional bonus.

We have stayed at Little Hallgarth over and over again and absolutely love it.
Over the years there have been great improvements and we love the new decor. It is warm, comfortable with all the modern facilities you could want. It is in an ideal location with an easy, dog friendly walk into Keswick across Fitz Park, quick access to the Railway line and Latrigg...absolutely perfect. We will be back.

Very well equipped. Lovely and warm. Great location for Keswick town centre. This is our 2nd stay at this cottage and we will certainly be back! Love it, a real home from home

The cottage is in an ideal position to walk into Keswick with somewhere to park.
The cottage is very nicely presented, very clean and stylish with all the facilities you would expect. Minor issue in that the DVD player was broken and the timer on the microwave did not work. There was a coffee machine that we didn’t use, although a Nespresso pod would be a more convenient addition. Overall, we would return.

The coffee machine is a fairly new addition to supplement the provided cafetiere. We decided to go down this route rather than a pod machine on environmental grounds, so hope you understand our choice. We will of course look into the microwave and DVD player, both of which were fully working when we were there a few weeks ago. We of course hope to see you again soon. x. edit... new microwave bought.
We loved Little Hallgarth.
It’s very tastefully furnished & decorated. A very interesting collection of artworks. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely enclosed garden. It’s situated well for exploring the Lakes & fells. A lovely 10 minute walk through Fritz Park to Keswick centre . Good walks from the doorstep too. Our only criticism has to be the creaky bed. It’s very comfortable, has wonderful mattress. But it did disturb our sleep,.We noticed previous reviews have commented on this too. Although, we would definitely still consider staying again, and would recommend too . Hopeful the bed will be resolved by then. Many thanks for a brilliant week.
Thank you for this lovely response. We love our antique bed and haven't noticed the creak.... but have a joiner heading to rhe house in half term with strict instructions to silence it!!!

Nice quiet area near the park. We had a lovely stay here the only thing that was a negative was the mattress on the double bed was very uncomfortable.
I am so sorry you found the bed uncomfortable. Along with a lot of the fixtures in Little Hallgarth, we have updated the mattress since we bought the cottage 18 months ago. Deciding which mattress to buy was not easy and we did a lot of research into the best one for a holiday let. We do put a lot of thought and time into trying to get the details right so people can have a wonderful break, and we are so glad you enjoyed yours x

Lovely comfortable, well presented cottage.
Only problem is the temperature control on the shower which kept coming off. Needs looking at. Very well equipped, everything you could possibly need. Nice landscaped garden with seating area, next to the river. Very quiet area but easy access into the park and town centre. Highly recommend

Fantastic property in beautiful surroundings set in s very quiet area but only 10 minutes walk into a lovely busy town with plenty of places to eat,drink and see.
Would recommend to anyone Thinking of visiting Keswick. The property was very clean and tidy with a well equipped kitchen area and a lovely sitting area in the garden. Great for the dog as the garden is fully enclosed already thinking of a return visit. Adrian

We have been lucky enough to visit the Lakes several times over our 38 year marriage.
Little Hallgarth was a very pleasant surprise. There is a good downstairs living space which you don’t often get. The decor and the quality of the furnishings also make you feel quite at home straight away. We were fortunate to have warm, sunny weather and the garden with garden furniture was a real bonus. The location is also brilliant with a short walk to the park, walks and the town. We had a really lovely stay.

This property is beautifully decorated and furnished, very warm and comfortable.
The house was super clean and well equipped, only thing I would change would be a better hairdryer. It is in a fantastic location right next to Fitz Park and easy access to Town Centre. We cannot wait to stay again..

Great stay at Little Hallgarth, cottage was spotless clean and was well equipped, the only negative was the double bed which had a new mattress on a very old metal bed frame which creaked at every movement.
Otherwise it was a first class cottage

Nice little cottage in a great location, nice walk through Fitz park to the town center .
Well stocked kitchen,, My only complaints are : Really uncomfortable double bed The lack of basic things left - 1 toilet roll, No kitchen Roll, absolute dregs of washing up liquid, it would cost much for these things to be left and would make a good impression for the guests

I am so glad you liked our little home, but sorry that a few of the little extras we provide were not there, they should have been and it seems this was unfortunately missed by our housekeeping team on this occasion. We do provide all of these along with milk, tea, coffee, sugar, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, note pads, pens, tissues. I agree the little extras make a big difference. We have also listened to your feedback regarding the mattress and a new Emma top of the range one has been taken to the house today.
We had an absolutely beautiful week at Little Hallgarth.
We didn't find the main bed comfy but note nobody else has said this so must be personal preference but very springy/little support for us. Used the twin ones instead. Great location and so beautifully decorated. Right near Keswick Park Run! and close to Town Centre. Ideal for walks straight from the door. Set up with everything you could need for a lovely stay. Lovely holiday home in a quiet location yet minutes walk from the bustling Keswick town.
One of the best lets we have stayed in Keswick. Perfect for furry friends as garden is completely enclosed and you can walk straight to the park from the back gate along the river. The bed was comfy and the sitting room cosy with a fully equipped kitchen complete with air fryer. The cottage was decorated for Christmas with festive lighting for a homely feel. We stayed over the Christmas period and the cottage was so cozy and Christmassy and perfectly located to Keswick - a short a beautiful walk into the centre. The place had everything we needed including a lovely garden. A perfect place to stay anytime of the year - thanks so much for the gifts also! Little Hallgarth is a beautiful cottage.
Very much a home from home. Beautifully decorated with amazing art work to enjoy. Brilliant location for walking into Keswick who’s is a lovely place to wander around with great places to eat and shop. We loved it so much we have already booked to stay again next year.

Little Hogarth is a super 2 bedroomed cottage.
It was well equipped, clean and all guidelines for TV, air fryer, heating etc were easily accessible. The cottage is in a great position and Keswick is less than a very pleasant 10 minute walk away through Fitz park. Ideally an extra downstairs toilet would be ideal but other than that the cottage has everything you could need. Would definitely stay again.

We are always thinking about ways to make the cottage work for guests and have just finished upgrading the bathroom, so it has a lovely new loo now (albeit still upstairs I am afraid!)

Great location, perfect for Keswick town centre, the park, lake and also for getting out walking. Loved listening to the river just a stones throw from the bottom of the garden as I drifted off to sleep

Little Halgarth is a great place to stay for a holiday with parking & a nice walk through the park to the centre of Keswick, the cottage is much better than the pictures so they will need an update when the refurb is complete.
would recommend staying here to anyone (we already have) & you get a beer & a bottle of fizz on arrival, we will stay again. Neil

A lovely well appointed cottage, really homely and all the amenities you need.
Loved all the artwork and little touches including a welcome basket. The new owners definitely took all the feedback on board from last owners reviews and we couldn't fault it. Lovely walk into town through beautiful Fitz park literally 5 mins along the river cut through at the back of property, so many gorgeous places to visit nearby spoilt for choice! We recommend Buttermere and Ullswater as our favourites but loads to do in Keswick too...try the ghost tour! Great choice of pubs and restaurants in walking distance, we enjoyed Casabella and Derwent walker cocktails and restaurant (tapas) Enjoy!

Brundholme Cottage was a lovely place to stay with size, comfort, cleansiness and privacy.
A nice quiet area with easy walk to Upper Fritz Park. My partner and our 2 beagles enjoy our stay in comfort in the cottage and visited many places in Keswick too.

Lovely holiday, nice house, have stayed before only comment would be the lounge although nice felt cluttered with new excess furniture.

Lovely cottage in a great location!
8/10. Only 10mins walk to the centre of Keswick. Couple of minor points:- Some instructions for the heating would be nice Towel rail in the bathroom didn't appear to be working The hot water in the wash basin only comes out in trickle.

Great location for all amenities and walks from the front door
Bit irritating that the broadband went down on the Thursday.
But apart from that couldn’t fault it. 10/10.
We had a great week here.
House was clean, airy, yet cosy and a good size. Great to have the garden too with having the dog with us. Location was good too. Quiet and only a 10 min walk into into centre of town. We would happily return here. 10/10
