The property

Resting in the heart of the Lake District in the picture-perfect town of Keswick, Cumbria is Oakhurst, a fabulous, Victorian mid-terrace cottage.

Accepting one well-behaved dog while being close to amenities, this family-friendly holiday home is ideal for friends and families alike looking to explore the delights of the Lake District National Park.

Arriving at the property, the entrance hall invites you in to kick off your shoes and make your way into the spacious sitting area home to plenty of seating space, a central coffee table and a TV, where you can settle in for the evening.

From here, make your way to the kitchen to whip up a delicious meal for your group; the kitchen hosts a fantastic array of equipment including electric oven, hob, microwave, slow cooker, blender and all-important espresso machine for your morning coffee.

Gather your group at the dining table to dinner and catch up on the day's events before heading upstairs to get some well-deserved rest.

On the second floor there is a further luxury double with en suite shower room and built in wardrobe , a comfortable twin bedroom and separate nursery so there are plenty of sleeping quarters for your family.

Guests will also benefit from a bathroom fit with a bath, shower over, basin and WC where you can prepare for your day, along with a ground-floor cloakroom.

Take advantage of the outdoor space at the property and savour your morning coffee out on the patio furniture.

Location The Lake District National Park is one of the UK's most popular holiday destinations for its plethora of activities and stunning terrains and lakes.

The area is a haven for walkers and cyclists with an abundance of paths and road routes for you to discover.

A short drive will take you to GO APE, a treetop adventure park, perfect for thril-seekers of all ages.

If you prefer to keep your feet closer to the ground, you can try a Segway tour or go on a hike through the beautiful area.

Fun for all the family, The Puzzling Place is within easy reach of the property and features mind-bended exhibitions such as an Anti-gravity Room, a Hologram Gallery and Eyelusions Exhibition.

The local museum also hosts fascinating exhibitions on the culture of the area including landscape & natural history, domestic and community, and social and industrial history.

KESWICK

Bassenthwaite 7 miles, Ullswater 16.6 miles; Cockermouth 13 miles.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater.
