The double rooms have nice en-suites and have plenty of room.

The downstairs is fine for our requirements. There's some remedial work needed around the building but that didn't affect our stay as we weren't inside very much other than sleeping ! The owner can't do much about one thing, which was an extremely loud seagull which perched on the rooftop from about 04.00. We'd definitely use Oakhurst again though.

Had a lovely stay.

Property has 3 double beds, 1 twin and a room with a cot, which is actually bigger than the 6 persons the description said it slept. Good facilities though the property is in need of a little love and attention here and there. Said wifi code was on the back of a door - it was, but really small and easy to miss - maybe put in the house folder instead. Would be happy to stay again.

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely, spacious cottage.

It was perfect for our group, and having separate bathrooms for everyone was a real bonus. The location is excellent being within walking distance of everything in Keswick made it so easy to explore the town. The only minor improvements would be fixing the first-floor bedroom door, as it doesn't close properly, and the separate bathroom door on the first floor, which also doesn't close properly. There was also a small patch of damp in the kitchen that could do with being addressed. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would definitely recommend this cottage to others, and would happily stay here again.

Accommodation was fantastic, clean and spacious with everything we needed for the stay.

It just needed a few touch ups from wear and tear, nothing major though

Oakhurst was a beautiful house which provided everything we needed for a cosy weekend break.

The quality of the furnishing was excellent and all amenities were provided in the house. Keswick centre and the lake are a short walk away and there are stunning views of the surrounding hills.

Comfortable beds and good showers. Location ideal, short flat walk to town. Would stay here again. Few niggles / bedside lamps in first floor back bedroom should be changed as flashing and too dull. Damp by window in sitting room and wall by door in kitchen damaged. Welcome hamper appreciated

Oakhurst is ideally situated in a quiet location just a few minutes walk to the market square and the lake.

It is spacious, comfortable and well equipped and we would recommend it and stay again. A few minor issues for the owner's attention: we felt there was a shortage of storage space for food because 3 kitchen cupboards are full of an excessive amount of crockery and glasses, the backyard was in need of a good clean and the front garden needed tidying. Some internal walls in need of a repaint, due to scuff marks, the bathroom window lock was broken so unable to open the window, and a Smart TV would be preferable to the present Chrome Cast TV system as would a separate microwave. But these are minor issues and would not deter from recommending it or staying there again in view of its location and size.

We've stayed at Oakhurst on several occasions and it never disappoints.

Perfect facilities for our needs and spotlessly clean. It is in a quiet location but only a five minute walk to all the amenities that Keswick has to offer. 10 out of 10.

We chose this accommodation for the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, this did not disappoint, bathrooms were clean and bedrooms well presented, beds were comfortable.

Welcome pack was a lovely treat. The modern kitchen was very well equipped, everything we needed to enjoy self catering. The central heating was efficient. However on entrance to the house it was evident that little decorative maintenance had been done to promote a welcome feel, it was quite shabby, walls were grubby and paintwork damaged. The lounge decor and furnishings were tired, seating was old and most uncomfortable. The legs of the large sofa were missing at the back, broken at the front. The leather surface was cracked, disrupted, dirty and the seat cushions had lost structure/ depth. A great disappointment after a long winters walk. The kitchen table chairs fabric was filthy. There was a large patch of damp on bay window wall of master bedroom and wall to left of kitchen outside door. There were many issues mentioned in previous reviews from up to two years ago which as yet have not been resolved which was disappointing: A general attention to decor would be beneficial. Toilet seat master bathroom, loose, easily detatched. Handle from window in bathroom on windowsill so could not open window. Bathroom cabinet in master bathroom ?water damaged, won't close, looked really shabby. Dinning room/ lounge doors too difficult to open. Front door challenging to lock. I scored the property after 24 hours was contacted by Lakelovers on the 13th Jan as a follow up. I was asked to submit my images taken for owners benefit via email that would be sent to me, this was not received. I have tried telephone contact with Lakelovers/ Sykes Cottages as I'd like to help. I find the automated system does not connect with the options being so limited. I have never been disappointed before with a property. This one fell short of the usual standard.

We had a great wet week with friends and family.

Oak hurst is well equipped, warm, and everyone gets a lovely bedroom. The location is brilliant to walk in to Keswick or up Walla Crag. Thanks for a great base. The Wi-Fi has some restrictions - possibly parental controls - which was unnecessary.

This is our fifth stay at Oakhurst and are already booked in for January.

The cottage is perfect for our needs and in an ideal location for Keswick and all it's amenities plus all the superb walks from the doorstep. The perfect home in the best town.

Good location for Keswick and for walks from the door. Kitchen very well equipped and bathrooms are really good.

Lovely property for a larger family.

Lots of kitchen ware such as plates, cups, pots and pans. Excellent having 3 en-suites so you have your own spaces - some fixtures and fittings such as toilet seats could do with fixing as very loose, back and front yard could do with a good tidy and weed, but overall was a great base for us

Absolutely lovely property - the welcome gift from the owners was a really nice touch and much appreciated.

Everything you could need for a short or long stay - spotlessly clean, great facilities, super-comfortable beds with en-suite bathrooms in 3 of the rooms, loads of space, modern but character retained. Superb position for accessing the town centre, good parking options, quiet in the evening. We found nothing not to our taste and would definitely stay again - ten out of ten for us - thank you to the owners.

A wonderful property to stay in.

Perfectly located in the heart of Keswick with easy access to Derwent where, mountains, town centre, parks, cinema etc. the property is thoughtfully set out and has everything in the kitchen you could possibly need for self catering. The rooms are comfortable, clean and inviting. We stayed with friends and appreciated the spacious nature of the property and the en-suites. We have stayed here before and always love it. The owners even leave a welcome package of goodies which is an extra treat and very thoughtful. Highly recommended.

Oakhurst was a really nice property which suited our needs well.

The large double beds and en-suite facilities were particularly welcomed by the three of us who benefitted from them. The twin room was very nice too. Slight improvement suggestions: the handle on the 1st floor bathroom was on a shelf when we arrived - we fixed it; the toilet in there could have been cleaner too. The toilet seat in the en-suite on the upper level needs fixing. Everything else was just what we wanted and we'll certainly return. Thanks a lot for the great communication in respect of our stay. Back yard could do with some attention, some general attention to décor, the showers were brilliant, great location

On the face of it,a lovely house.

But there were issues that need resolving; broken dining chairs, bedroom door not closing, broken bathroom cabinet, doors between two main rooms were extremely difficult to open, out of date coffee pods. Having said that, the house size and location are exceptional, just needs a bit of TLC. I would stay there again.

This is our second stay at Oakhurst, and I'm sure we'll be back.

It's such a treat for each of the four of us to have our own bedroom and bathroom. The house was It was spotlessly clean, the beds are really comfy, towels are fluffy. The kitchen is brilliantly equipped (except it only has one small tea pot) and the welcome basket is a really good one.

The property was great - very well furbished and the en-suite bathrooms for each double room were a bonus.

The only minor issue was that there wasn’t a microwave. Would definitely look to book this property again when visiting the Lakes.

We thought the house was beautiful and well equipped and in a great location.

We noticed a few things that weren’t quite right, such as doors not shutting fully and curtains coming off rails. Most important of these were the windows in the main bedroom - these were were difficult to open (and if opened they slammed shut very swiftly, so quite dangerous as well as meaning that the room was very hot) and one of sashes had a broken timber frame which looked quite rotten. Otherwise we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely return.

We really enjoyed our stay at the property.

We thought it was very clean, with a lot of generous space, nice touches like the hand soap and great views. The beds were really comfortable. The views are wonderful and the overall location is outstanding. We thought the house had a cloakroom and/or downstairs toilet which we needed for someone with access problems but the house did not have this. Might be worth removing from the description. We also thought a description of the short cut down to the lake using the church side path might be helpful for people as it fits a lot of time off the walk which goes through the town. We also thought the stairs were quite steep in the house so again may be worth adding to the description of the house. We would definitely come back and stay again.

Property has lovely big rooms, nice bathrooms and comfy beds!

Sadly there was much that we were not impressed with. On arrival we noticed both gates were broken, lots of weeds outside and all bins were overflowing due to the recycling being mixed up, and not lifted by refuse collectors. We were unable to use the back outside space as there is a leaking overflow which has made the whole area slippy and green, including making the door green. Various doors in the house don't open/close properly and the family bathroom door doesn't lock. Front main bedroom windows don't stay open and there is exposed glass on a window due to a rotten window frame. This was all reported to Sykes, who apologised and asked how to make it right, it cant while the property is occupied ☹️ The complaint was sent to the owner, I haven't heard anything. It's worth noting the stairs and floors are uneven due to the age of the house. We wouldn't stay again or recommend.

Oakhurst is really well-equipped, comfortable, spacious and ideally located.

The four of us had a fab weekend, and enjoyed having a bedroom and a bathroom each. The front door lock was temperamental which meant I nearly had to call for help on one occasion, but brute force and ignorance saved the day. Also there are many MANY coffee makers but only one small teapot. Overall we had a brilliant stay, and intend to come back again.

We absolutely loved our stay in Oakhurst and would definitely consider returning again.

The house is lovely, with pretty much everything you could need. Plenty of space to sit and chat. The bath is huge enough to swim in, it's amazing! And the cottage was nice and warm in chilly November. Everyone slept fine so the beds must have been consistently comfortable. The only down side for us was the lack of grass in the garden for our dog, but really was no great inconvenience and certainly hasn't lessened our enjoyment of the holiday! Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will likely be back again next year! :D

An amazing house!

Perfect for our family of six. Ideal location as it is a short walk into town and also to the lakeside. Beds are very comfy and showers are fantastic. The house is so well equipped and has everything you could ask for and more! The welcome pack was a really nice touch and very much appreciated. Thank you. We will definitely recommend to others.

Perfect for the 3 of us - one en-suite each.

Instruction book in one place for all appliances would be good . No idea about bins as no instructions- we got lucky putting them out ! Sofa etc in lounge are way to heavy to move. Far too many cushions in bedrooms / pillows are thick . Would use again. Parking outside the property was ok as I left the car for a week and used buses

2nd visit for us!

House is perfect location and has lovely bedding, most rooms en-suite and furnishings are quality and had everything required for your family stay. We were very comfy. Only negative in hope of a few little changes Can you ever over equip a kitchen ? Yes ( not much room to put food shop). Any the living room cusions need replacing at feather were leaking out. Plus you need a washing line, god forbid you hang it in what we thought was a shared courtyard. Would Definitely go again and recommend this property. Thank you

The En-suite bathrooms and kitchen are of a very high standard and also modern looking.

We felt that some of the decor and furnishings are a little tired looking which is not in keeping with the kitchen and bathrooms. The connecting internal doors cannot be opened as we assume new carpets have been fitted. The front gate and door are in need of attention. Excellent location for the centre of Keswick and the house is very spacious.

Lovely accommodation upstairs, 3 en-suite rooms etc Nice new carpet throughout which made the house feel great, with good central heating system in the very cold weeks we were there No smart TV, unusual for the price of the accommodation Man who replaced sheets and towels - very good Dishwasher was not working when we arrived - Maybe this explained the ‘not as clean as it should be’ plates, cutlery etc.

Dishwasher worked once I had worked out how to reset it (3 resets required in the two weeks) Microwave sometimes decided to simply not work, never resolved, no idea why it would stop working, but it did. Reported both but neither issue resolved. Used tumble drier once - had to empty very full condensed water container and clean completely blocked fluff filter. Used washing machine once - had to clean powder tray as congealed with powder. But we did have a wonderful two weeks :)

We couldn't work the top oven especially the microwave which is important in a holiday let also the tv was basic would have been great if we could have connected to are Netflix/prime especially over the Christmas period other than that we had a great stay thank you

Very good location easy to walk into town.

The accommodation was of a high standard, very well equipped and clean. Lounge was very comfortable, large dining room and very well equipped kitchen. Bedrooms all nice and 3 en suite's made life easy. Would definitely recommend. Thank you to the owners for the lovely welcome pack!

This was the perfect place for a short break.

All having access to separate bathrooms was very useful. The kitchen was really well equipped. Parking was easy and the location so close to town we didn't need to move the cars at all. We all enjoyed the excellent weather and went for some lovely walks. I would certainly recommend this property.

It provided a cosy, clean and very comfortable environment for a fabulous three generation family holiday. The en-suites were a real bonus. Very well equipped kitchen and the house is in short walking distance to Keswick town. Would not hesitate to rebook.

Oakhurst is in a great location only a short walk to the town centre.

Got parked outside no problem. Immaculate, clean, comfortable property with everything you need for your stay. Will stay here again and highly recommend !
