Raphael's Cottage, a two-bedroom, period home nestled in the heart of Keswick, Cumbria, is a must-see for every traveller. An excellent location in the Lake District National Park near Derwent Water and a beautifully-decorated interior with period features, Raphael's Cottage is ideal for a couple or a family of four wishing to get away to the Lakes. With a bench in the front garden of the cottage, you can relax and watch the world go by while sipping your hot cup of coffee. The well-equipped kitchen includes an electric oven, gas cook top, microwave, and dishwasher, so you won't have to spend any time doing the dishes while you're relaxing in the apartment. There is a washer/dryer conveniently located in the utility area, so there is no need to bring your whole wardrobe away with you! Savour a freshly prepared meal at the dining table or if the weather is nice, why not have dinner outside on the private patio, or in the enclosed lawned rear garden. Indulge in a night of entertainment thanks to the Smart TV with DVD player as you relax in front of the electric effect stove in the spacious living room. After a long day on your feet, make your way up to the first floor, where you'll find beautiful bathroom where you can indulge in a soothing soak or refreshing rinse, before catching your rest in one of two well-presented bedrooms, a double and a twin. Don't miss out on the many restaurants and bars that can be found within a short walk of Raphael's Cottage, as well as a plethora of other attractions, such as the Derwent Pencil Museum or the Puzzling Place, which features illusion-filled displays. If you're searching for more adventurous activities, head to Keswick Adventure Centre, where you can go paddle boarding, canyoning, or climbing in the ghylls. Consider booking a show at the Theatre By The Lake for you and your loved ones for an amazing night. That isn't all either: right outside your door, you'll find everything from canoeing and bushcraft to mini golf and great fishing. Just a short drive away, Bassenthwaite is a popular lakeside destination noted for its vast lake surrounded by rolling hills where you can take a leisurely stroll along the waterside paths, sail, or catch a glimpse of the area's abundant birds. Lake District Wildlife Park is a must-see for wildlife fans, with over 100 species of exotic animals to ensure a fun-filled day for everyone! Visit Cockermouth, a town notable for its connections to William Wordsworth, whose former home can be explored and lies on the River Cocker, as well as being home to lovely art galleries, the Cockermouth History Wall, and the picturesque Memorial Gardens, all of which are located in the town.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
