The Deekabout

Fabulous accommodation.

Perfect location for early dog walks in the park and eating out in the evening. The terrace is a wonderful place to relax. Outside space downstairs would benefit from some chairs as I have arthritis. This was our second visit and we shall return.

We had a fantastic stay at Deekabout in Keswick.

The house was great and easily accomodated our family of 8 and 2 dogs. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms were luxurious, house in general was clean, warm and comfortable. 5 mins easy walk from the centre of Keswick. Self check in was seamless. We would love to stay again xxxxx

We had an EXCELLENT stay.

Every detail had been thought of, a beautifully laid out cottage with everything we needed. We would stay again. Small details (didn’t affect our stay). There was an exceptionally strong smell of fish when we first walked into the property which took several days to fade. The furniture overall was cheap and bedroom cupboards didn’t close properly as a result in top bedrooms. V v small details as said. Overall 8.5/10

We enjoyed our stay at the Deekabout.

The house was clean and comfortable. Views from the top floor were amazing. The children spent ages watching the hang-gliders off Latrigg. All neighbours were friendly, giving a sense of community. When we had queries, the owners were very attentive and quick to respond. It is idealy located, minutes from the park and local shops. This is a lovely, family-friendly home. Thank you Deekabout.

We had a great weekend staying at this house!

It comfortably fit all seven of us, with plenty of communal space to hang out and relax. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed, which made cooking meals together really easy. The location was ideal—just the right distance from town, close enough to walk. A really nice touch was the selection of boardgames they left for us, which we definitely made the most of. Would happily stay again!

The property was fantastic and very well stocked.

Perfect location from Keswick centre. We have stayed in Keswick a few times and would say the Deekabout has been the best of the bunch.

beautiful property in a great location .

the house has been renovated using great use of the space 2 x full bathrooms and a ground floor toilet. kitchen is well stocked with pots pans cutlery and dinner sets one of the best properties I have stayed at in the lakes , it felt like home from the 1st minutes

Stayed at the Deekabout for 2 weeks mid August 2024, location is perfect for both Keswick town and Fitz park (with all its amenities) and a great base in general for the Lakes.

The house was cleaning and well maintained, with all the kitchen appliances and utensils you might need (though we tend to eat out or have takeaways whilst on holiday). We were initially concerned about parking as this has previously been an issue when we’ve stayed in this part of town. We always got parked near the house. The roof terrace was an unexpected added bonus as was the communal garden out back. Beds were very comfy (have come home to realise we need new mattresses!) If I was being really nit picky- I’d request more hangers in the wardrobes (there are never enough in any holiday home) and a mixer hose for cleaning the pup, there are very useful hot and cold taps out side but I couldn’t find a hose to attach to them. This aside… We will absolutely be booking again

The Deekabout is a beautiful property.

It has everything you need for your stay. Sadly it rained during our stay so we were unable to use the balcony. It was an unexpected surprise and we were hoping to have morning coffee, or a glass of wine on it in the evening. Maybe next time. The property is only a 5 minute walk into the centre of Keswick and has the bonus of a lovely park across the road. Great if you are taking your pet away with you. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Deekabout. It is now one of our favourite stays in The Lakes.

This is the second time we have stayed here and plan to book again for next year.

The sun terrace upstairs was a nice improvement (although naturally it wasn't very sunny during our week). The owners responded quickly when we had a minor problem with the kitchen floor. A very nice property and we always managed to park nearby if not directly in front of the house

Perfect location for a week in the lakes, walking distance to the town centre and all that offers, a beautiful park with many sporting activities, Derwent water and the mountains.

The house was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The sun terrace was lovely after a long walk and the ‘welcome bottle’ was much appreciated.

Really nice place, bedrooms and bathrooms are modern.

Enjoyed the little roof terrace. Also very close to the town centre (5min walk).

We had such an amazing stay.

Everything was so clean and as described on the website. The location was really good too, we walked into Keswick with ease and all the beds were very comfortable. A welcome bottle of bubbly was a lovely touch. The Deekabout was a hit with the whole party we were with! The only small downside was that the toilet seats weren’t fitted very well

A weeks stay in February half term for 5 adults in this fabulous holiday cottage.

Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The cottage is very well thought out and tastefully decorated throughout. We would definitely stay here again. We were unable to make use of the balcony due to the wet weather - what a wonderful little space this must be during the summer months. We had one small issue which the owners dealt with very swiftly.

Great house, perfect location.

Loved it all. Clean, comfy beds with lovely bedding, easy parking outside, stones throw from town, fantastic log burner, well equipped kitchen with plates to feed an army on, really handy for the excellent garage shop too (which was even open Christmas day). My only complaint was there was nothing to clean with - for wiping benches etc. so I had to buy a spray. Would definitely stay here again in future. Many thanks

The Deekabout was a fab place to stay.

Great location, plenty of space and lots to do around the Keswick area. Didn’t move our car all week as so much to do from the doorstep. We have booked to come back again the same time next year!

A great property in a really convenient location.

The house was clean. comfortable and well-equipped. The living room was a little cramped for seven people but the bedrooms were spacious and the one day the weather permitted it, we enjoyed sitting on the balcony. We were usually able to find parking on the street near the house, and enjoyed being able to visit so may places without having to drive. A coffee press would have been useful in the kitchen, but otherwise it was all great!

Lovely clean house in a great location.

Outdoor space is great. Parking can be tricky as they roads around the property are competitive for parking! Few maintenance issues cropped up during our stay (we had been notified about two on arrival) but I have no doubt these will be rectified asap. Hosts friendly and helpful. No grater in the house which was a pain but not a huge issue. Thanks again.

Great location, very comfortable, perfect for dogs would definitely recommend and also use again .

A few bits & bobs in kitchen that would be good additions.

. a condiment selection maybe..also a few more teacloths for drying pots you don't put in dishwasher....some of us still hand wash!!! But they are minor niggles...not problems..lovely house...great spot and VERY well presented..

Such a lovely property.

Great location within walking distance from Keswick. Dog friendly & slept the 6 of us comfortably. Parking for 3 cars was ok too on the adjoining side roads. Nice little courtyard to enjoy the sunshine and the shared garden area was a nice addition. The owners were lovely and left balloons and cards for our celebration.

The property is tastefully furnished and very clean.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. The house sleeps 8 and there were 7 of us staying which felt a bit cramped at times. The top floor is extremely hot and the windows don't open wide. When we arrived, the rubbish bin outside was full already. The bin is very small and it was full again when we left. Would recycling bins be a possibility?

The five of us a fabulous stay in your cottage.

The weather was extremely kind to us, so much so the 13 tog duvet was over and beyond. Especially as the windows don't open far. Did not want to use the fan in the present situation. We also couldn't find the bins out the back, so took our recycling to the centre along with normal rubbish. Everything else was great. Even the dog enjoyed herself, as the river was so close was an added bonus. Parking the three cars was easy. The location was also great access for the bus from Penrith. Will definitely recommend to my friends.

Absolutely beautiful house - well equipped and in an amazing location.

I have absolutely nothing negative to say! So comfortable after a day walking in the fells. Would highly recommend - we’ll be back :-)

Amazing property, very clean and spacious.

Everything you could need in a holiday let. Parking can be an issue but we’ll worth it for the location near the town. Would definitely book again.

Had a great stay in Deekabout in late January.

The cottage is comfortable and clean. WiFi was great as had to work a couple of days and the connection worked well. It’s in a great location and it had everything we need for a comfortable stay.

We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary in this lovely contemporary cottage to that has been renovated to a high standard.

Well equipped with comfortable beds and great to have some outside space. A short walk from the cottage to Keswick town and Derwent lake, which has plenty of shops and places to eat. It was also a great place to explore the lake District from and a comfortable place to come back to. Would highly recommend.

Beautifully presented house, great location with an easy walk to town and Fitz park but very quiet.

Super comfortable accommodation. Parking a matter of luck but that is the downside of being central!
