Very well equipped, spacious and comfortable property.

Ideally situated for both town centre and lake. Suitable for the three generations of our family. Would definitely stay again if the occasion arose.

We were very happy with the house!

We were very pleased with how well the kitchen was outfitted and found all the rooms comfortable and nice to have games to enjoy. The walking access to Keswick Centre and Derwent Water was excellent. We would definitely recommend The White House to our friends. Couple suggestions-there were directions for the dryer but not the washing machine. The posting on the wall said there was. We didn’t find the spare keys until the second day. A note should be left for where to look for them.

Our stay at Whitehouse was excellent for a group of 5 for a week - four bedrooms and bathrooms, a well-equipped kitchen and plenty of space to relax, eat and talk.

Whitehouse is well located in a quiet street 10 minutes walk from Derwent Water and 5 minutes walk from the centre of Keswick, with private parking for two vehicles outside the kitchen at the back of the house - altogether a great place to stay for a family or group whether working, walking or site-seeing. The only reservation was the lack of egg-cups in an otherwise well provided kitchen including scales, salad-spinner and plenty of mugs. Are boiled eggs no longer a thing?

Ideal accommodation for our party of 8 (plus dog) - well equipped, cosy and comfortable, and a great location for our winter holiday.

We have stayed at the White House multiple times now and always thoroughly enjoy our stay.

The house is spacious and clean with parking, which is a massive bonus in Keswick. The owners always leave a little something for arrival which is a lovely added extra. We'll be back again, thank you!

A lovely, cosy and roomy house with great facilities in an excellent location.

The off-road parking was a real bonus.

The White House is without doubt one of the most perfectly equipped and comfortable places we have stayed. We easily managed 3 cars in the parking space. The thought taken to ensure a perfect stay was second to none. Thank you very much indeed. Mary B.

We loved staying at this house as it was on a quiet road but only a short walk from the shops, pubs and the lake.

The house itself was spacious and very well equipped. We all agreed that we could easily live there! We also liked how we could do some walks straight from the house, such as to Latrigg and Castlehead woods up to Greta wood and back round Friars Crag. Off road parking is rare so this was a bonus but it was a little challenging to park our Toyota hilux as it so long plus one other car. It was possible with lots of reversing and manoeuvring! A fantastic place to stay that we would recommend and we would stay here again. Thank you.

Absolutely gorgeous home .

It had everything you needed and more . There were 7 of us friends who meet up every year and we all said that we would revisit . Even though the weather wasn't too grand we still enjoyed going into the town which was a 5 minute walk and visited the local pubs and shops . Will definitely recommend to family and friends

All excellent.

One small point though is that the front room double bed felt rickety and liable to collapse (although obviously it didn’t) but it would benefit from being made more robust

Private parking a great asset. Loved the quilting, especially the one on the bedside table that matched Klimt’s ‘The Kiss’. Definitely hope to return.

We had an excellent week at the White House.

We were luck with the weather but even more fortunate with our choice of accommodation. The house was impressively spacious—perfect for the five of us, and easily roomy enough for a larger group too. Everything was immaculate and clearly maintained with great care, which made us feel right at home. The location was another highlight—tucked away just a short stroll from the heart of Keswick, with its charming shops, cafes, and easy access to the stunning Derwentwater. A perfect base for both relaxing and exploring!

Everything was as we wanted it to be.

The cottage was clean, well furnished and well kitted out. There was an issue with the sliding doors in the lounge but we left a note to that effect, and I'm sure the issue will be resolved.

We had a lovely week only 2 small things I had to undo the door bell it would not stop ringing and the TV was not easy to use maybe my fault I have a TV you just switch on and change channels yours where a bit more complicated appart from that all great

Had a lovely time over Xmas

The White House gives the feel of a house that a family cherishes.

There is a whole load of things that holiday houses often ignore: The showers are enthusiastic; the kitchen is well equipped and knives are sharp without it being cluttered; the kitchen is very well ordered; the chairs are comfy; the cooker is easy to work and of high quality; the plates and glasses match. The parking for 3 cars - just about if small and you are good at maneuvering but street parking was not an issue, loads of room for two cars. The owners are keen at needlework which is fun. The south facing front garden is nice in the sun. The property has not had a back to brick refurb for some time so some of the fitting etc are a little old school but that does not matter because the main things you use are excellent.

Fantastic property, we had everything we could possibly need, comfortable beds, lovely linen and towels and a kitchen full of all equipment we needed.

Thank you for supplying plenty dishwasher and washing machine tablets and dish towels usually in short supply in other rentals we’ve stayed at. One suggestion might be an air fryer! Help saves on electricity. Your property was throughly enjoyed by all the family. Thank you

Excellent accommodation, eight of us stayed in comfort.

A very well equipped property close to town centre.

Only minor issue was that the parking was very tight for three cars to get in and out of.

A family party of 8 adults really enjoyed our stay at the White House, comfortable and well equipped property with off road parking.

Good property fully equipped for our large family.

Fantastic has private parking, enclosed front garden and near the town centre. The house itself was great but the level of cleaning not very good. Would expect a deep clean between residents, clear to see this is not the case. Quite a lot of dust and floors not clean under some of the couches and beds..

The White House is a fabulous house and was well suited to our party with three children and five adults and a dog.

Big spacious home, perfect space to host 6 of us but could easily manage 8. Great location just 5 minutes walk to town centre. Very good kitchen facilities. Easy convenience for Walla Crag & Castlehead walks. Would definitely come again!

Lovely house, perfect for family.

Appreciated covers for furniture. Every utensil you would need in kitchen, which was appreciated. Excellent for shops, pubs etc. Walk to lake only 10 minutes. Only negative was would have liked a TV in the games room where the log burner was, as we used that quite a lot. But overall excellent.

Great location , well appointed & very clean spacious house for 8 people

The house is perfectly located, well maintained, and has everything.

We booked for two weeks next Spring which is the most clear endorsement. And, even the weather was perfect for 14 days in a row!

An excellent, well equipped house for eight adults, with lots of extra touches that made our stay even better.

A good supply of essentials: teatowels, toilet rolls, bin bags, dishwasher tables etc, were really appreciated. Very clean and comfortable and parking for three large cars was an extra bonus, being in the centre of Keswick.

Absolutely beautiful property, well located and views of the hills from the kitchen.

Instructions to get to the house and collect keys were clear and simple. So much space for us all and very well equipped, very clean and comfortable. We will definitely try to book this property again when we next come to the Lakes. (One minor issue is that you have to be out of the property by 9am and all the beds to be stripped. Personally I'd prefer to either be out by 9am and you leave the beds or strip the beds and be out by 10am. But that might just be because my family aren't early risers

Great house, lovely big rooms, very well equipped, utensils, kitchen foil/towel, cleaning stuff.

Perfect location, 5 minute walk to the George pub. Only criticism is the 9 o’clock checkout, otherwise perfection. Will definitely consider again.

Overall we had a lovely week however found the house to be very dated and a bit smelly and dirty in places.

Positives about The White House, lots of space, well equipped and very central to Keswick town centre. Negatives were the smell, carpets need replaced in bedrooms as does the mattress in the smaller of the double rooms, the doors were all dirty handprints and in need of cleaned, cobwebs on every light fitting, shower cubicles are on the small side god help you if you dropped anything whilst in there! We have visited the Lakes for many years and stayed in many houses but this was the worst so far. It has obviously been a B&B and quickly turned into a holiday rental but without the refurb it so desperately requires.

Overall a good stay.

The property was very spacious and we were able to utilise seating from the adjacent room when all 8 sitting in the lounge. The property was clean although would massively benefit from modernisation of carpets and decoration to enhance stay as currently very old and dated. The vacuum needs a good clean as it unfortunately smelt awful when switched on. Otherwise great location and size of property and fully equipped for cooking and washing. I did send a message to Sykes yesterday to advise that the towel hoop in the front en-suite fell off when replacing hand towel on the last day. It wasn't broken but did require a screwdriver to allow reattaching which we did not have.

We really liked the White House.

It was a lovely property, very well presented and equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed, including nice touches like fresh coffee and Earl Grey tea. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all great. The location was also super for the Keswick Convention and getting out and about on the Lakes and fells.

What a lovely property.

Very convenient for town. Parking is tight, but we had 2 large cars there. The house in general was very comfortable, relaxing and cosy. Would recommend to friends and family and would stay there again. Thank you.

The cottage location was perfect only 5mins walk to town centre.

Parts of the cottage were very tired and in need of an update, but did not detract from our stay. Plenty of room for dining and socialising considering we were a party of 8. Kitchen was very well equipped and the beds extremely comfortable . Shower rooms were very small and made for a challenge. Parking is tight but adequate. A bonus in Keswick We enjoyed our stay at the White House , yes a few small issues but perfectly adequate for a few nights.

A gorgeous cottage that had everything we needed.

Close to town centre. Felt very at home and cosy. One tiny request would be leaving at 9am on day of departure a rush with little children to get organised. 10am would be better. Thank you.

Cottage was very well presented with a high standard of cleanliness.

The kitchen in particular was extremely well equipped . The location was excellent for its quietness and accessibility to both town centre and lake. The only problem was with electronic communications with Sykes which when printed off were unreadable due to the greyness/ faintness of the type face used. Attempts to report this problem to Sykes proved completely impossible as phone calls offered three options none of which ever connected to the company.

Large comfortable house with a well equipped kitchen, laundry facilities and a wide screen smart TV which was appreciated in the late evenings.

The house is an easy walk to Keswick town centre and Derwent. There is parking for 3 cars but it is very tight indeed getting in and out. We used on street parking when it was available to avoid the challenge!

Whilst the house was clean, spacious and quiet …if felt a bit tired and run down in need of some updating to the decor.

It also wouldn’t hurt to have any extra TV since there are two reception rooms, one TV in a house that size isn’t enough. Please get rid of the stained fabric toilet roll holders on the doors in the bathrooms!

Getting to the parking was a bit tricky not clearly marked.

new sign would be great idea. we also had trouble locking the main front door. otherwise we had a great week thankyou would recommend the house.

The house was much larger than we expected which was great.

The kitchen was especially well equipped and had generous numbers of plates, mugs, cutlery, glasses and cooking equipment including mixer, liquidiser etc.

There were also bin bags, washing powder and dishwasher tablets. These were much appreciated.

It is comfortably furnished and very well equipped. It's just a short walk into the centre of Keswick and there's ample off road parking for up to 3 cars.

Initially, I thought the house was a bit dated, but gradually grew to really like it, as did everyone in our group!

It was so clean and very comfortable and the ness heating was easy. The black door lock made me laugh, but all worked really well. Great facilities in the kitchen.Just right for us visiting Keswick.

The house was lovely.

Parking very difficult in a tight space but helpful that permits were provided for street parking. On a separate note, I paid for but did not request travel insurance, and when I complained about this I was told it was too late to cancel.

Very comfortable house.

Easy access to lake town,supermarket and bus station. Lovely views from some of the bedroom windows. Enjoyed playing the games provided.

Lots of space for everyone whether they want a quiet corner to themselves or watch TV. It felt cosy, with many thoughtful touches which made it feel like home. The pretty front garden was great to sit in on warm summer evenings. Good wi-fi but stronger signal in the front rooms. Has parking for up to 3 cars. Would highly recommend this house for families and groups.

The White House was an incredibly practical house for us as a group of 8 adults.

There was plenty of room, and the facilities were excellent too. All of the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. We felt cosy together in the living space but the bedrooms and bathrooms were large and roomy to give space as well. The location of The White House is great. It's close to the town but in a residential area so it quiet. Having the parking for three cars is excellent as Keswick can get rather busy so parking is a premium.

The White House was perfectly for a family holiday, loads of space, really well equipped and excellent value for money.

I think the house was more comfortable and luxurious than the pictures suggested!

It was always warm and had lots of hot water. Beds were very comfortable. overall an excellent experience.

Absolutely lovely house , immaculate and every little comfort thought of.

Lots of cooking paraphernalia and very good supplies of crockery etc. The only thing it didn’t seem to have was a lemon squeezer! Fabulous. Having parking behind the house was v useful – and neighbours Neil and Vanessa were so nice about my dad squashing their flower tub while trying to park - hopefully the flowers made up for it ! We all loved the house and are considering staying again next year. However a little moan as regards Sykes Admin: I found it difficult to log on at the start and register because the link you sent was time-dependent and I was unsuccessful in logging on after that or in contacting you at all. All I received was a large number of semi-marketing emails and no reply relating to my original email requesting a new link to log on .(which I didn’t manage at all until we got the final joining details for the property. ) I did try calling too but I am quite busy and gave up after the first time. Not sure if it was even necessary. Additionally there was some confusion around key collection at your office so I would maybe mark you down a few points on the admin front

Everything from booking to the stay and returning keys was super simple.

The cottage was very clean and well equipped for our stay. It is a nice location, easy access to the town center. Good parking as well. We would definitely consider booking the property again!
