The property

We are sure that our guests will love Bandol - a detached and spacious single storey property which has been completely refurbished. The property is situated on the edge of Braithwaite Village being just a short walk down the hill to the local shop and a couple of good pubs. The setting is ideal with excellent views over the village towards Keswick, Skiddaw and surrounding fells. Walks from the door take in some of the high tops including Grasmoor and Grisedale Pike whilst you can enjoy a more gentle ramble along nearby winding country lanes. Cruises and 'lake hopping' boat services on Derwentwater make the most of the fantastic Keswick area. Accommodation: Entrance up several steps into porch/utility area with plenty of room for coats and boots. A well equipped breakfast kitchen in a cream painted style with window looking out on to the back patio and fells beyond. Spacious L shaped living/dining room (flat screen TV, DVD, Sonos, Wi-Fi and log burner) with large picture window with views towards Skiddaw and surrounding fells. There are four bedrooms; 2 with king size beds, one of which has an en-suite with p-shaped bath with shower over, basin and wc and two twin rooms. Separate shower room with large shower cubicle, basin and wc. Additional separate wc. Comfortably furnished and decorated to a high standard, Bandol is a great house for a family holiday or a number of couples wanting to get together at any time of the year, with central heating and hot water on demand. Outside: Large gardens stretching all the way round the house and the field surrounding and belonging to the property can also be carefully utilised although usually grazed by sheep. Secure storage for bikes etc in the garage. Coledale Inn 2 mins walk, shop and further pubs in Braithwaite 10 mins walk.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.

About the location

BRAITHWAITE

Keswick 3 miles.

Between the magnificent northern lakes of Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite, lies the village of Braithwaite. Still retaining much of its traditional appeal, the Coledale Beck runs through the village with whitewashed Lakeland cottages, two village shops and two real ale Inns each brimming with character! Between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw, there really is something for everyone. Visit Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the lake with an open-air theatre, or take a trip around the lake. Lake District Wildlife Park, Dodd Wood, Derwentwater, and Keswick with its wide range of attractions, are also within easy reach.
