We are sure that our guests will love Bandol - a detached and spacious single storey property which has been completely refurbished. The property is situated on the edge of Braithwaite Village being just a short walk down the hill to the local shop and a couple of good pubs. The setting is ideal with excellent views over the village towards Keswick, Skiddaw and surrounding fells. Walks from the door take in some of the high tops including Grasmoor and Grisedale Pike whilst you can enjoy a more gentle ramble along nearby winding country lanes. Cruises and 'lake hopping' boat services on Derwentwater make the most of the fantastic Keswick area.
Accommodation: Entrance up several steps into porch/utility area with plenty of room for coats and boots. A well equipped breakfast kitchen in a cream painted style with window looking out on to the back patio and fells beyond. Spacious L shaped living/dining room (flat screen TV, DVD, Sonos, Wi-Fi and log burner) with large picture window with views towards Skiddaw and surrounding fells. There are four bedrooms; 2 with king size beds, one of which has an en-suite with p-shaped bath with shower over, basin and wc and two twin rooms. Separate shower room with large shower cubicle, basin and wc. Additional separate wc.
Comfortably furnished and decorated to a high standard, Bandol is a great house for a family holiday or a number of couples wanting to get together at any time of the year, with central heating and hot water on demand.
Outside: Large gardens stretching all the way round the house and the field surrounding and belonging to the property can also be carefully utilised although usually grazed by sheep. Secure storage for bikes etc in the garage. Coledale Inn 2 mins walk, shop and further pubs in Braithwaite 10 mins walk.

Bandol cottage was probably the best cottage we had ever stayed in.
We were amazed at the quality of the accommodation which was enhanced by the wonderful views from every window. The amenities that we found within the cottage lacked nothing. It had obviously been provided with great thought. There was a potential problem with the bins because the bin lorry had broken down. However the owner of Bandol was quick to provide a workable solution. All in all, the provision at Bandol ensured that our holiday in the Lake District went smoothly. Thank you.

Cottage just perfect.
Well equipped, comfortable beds, spotlessly clean and with the most beautiful view. It was enjoyed by the oldest in our family group to the youngest, who made full use not the games and puzzles provided.

This property is simply amazing.
Impeccably maintained including the sizeable grounds. It has a real wow factor when you walk in with a remarkable view of Skiddaw from the lounge window and over to other fells to the rear. The accomodation itself is excellent, a modern and very well stocked kitchen, lovely dining area and very comfortable lounge with a large TV. 1 really nice ensuite double bedroom, another double and 2 x twins plus another family bathroom and separate toilet. Good powerful showers. Plenty of parking, we had 3 cars but 4 and maybe 5 at a push. The host communicated really well with us from the outset. The property is very well located, 200 yds to the Coledale pub, 500 yds to the bus stop for Keswick/Cockermouth. I would book again tomorrow it was an absolute delight.

We had a great stay here.
The cottage was so lovely, the pictures don't really do it justice! The views were amazing and it was perfect for exploring this part of the Lakes. Lots of walks from the doorstep and a great pub just down the road. The owner was very friendly and helpful via text and had thought of everything you could need at the cottage itself. Bandol is an excptional and very well presented property that is clearly loved by the friendly owner.
Ideally suited to those who prefer a private location but with ease of access to shops, pubs and local amenities. Wonderful walks in every direction without needing to use the car. Also, it is a bird watchers paradise! It was a joy to observe (and feed) them. The property is beautifully maintained and furnished, conveying a high level of comfort. Would not hesitate to recommend, and a return stay won't be far off...

Having stayed at 14 cottages over 20 years Bandol is by far the cleanest and best kept property.

For anyone wondering about booking Bandol I’d say don’t hesitate.
I’ve re read the description and previous reviews following our stay and can assure the accuracy of all the positive comments. The house exceeded our expectations and I agree the photos don’t do it justice. The house was very clean on our arrival, it’s very spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen and utility has everything you need, lots of practical space, cooking equipment, cutlery and crockery. Also be assured that the showers are great, which is always important to me. The view from the large picture window is incredible. You can believe what you read. I’m certain we will return.

We had an absolutely lovely week at Bandol!
The cottage was beautiful, well equipped, comfortable and we could find no fault. The wildlife in the garden and surrounding field as well as the amazing views meant that everyone in the group (ranging from 6 to 84 years) had a wonderful stay. All bedrooms were clean comfortable and spacious and the communal areas were big enough to spread out and relax but also homely and tastefully decorated. Thank you for having us!

Immaculate property with a very well equipped kitchen and stunning views from every window.
There are a number of walks on the doorstep, as well as a couple of pubs, cafe and village shop. The owner was responsive and helpful when we had a query. Look forward to returning - best place we’ve stayed in the Lakes so far.

Excellent location and fantastic views.
Very comfortable and equipped to a very high standard. Efficient central heating system which coped well with the particularly cold weather. Good communication with the owner. We've had a very enjoyable stay.

Bandol was perfect for our 3-generation family holiday.
A lovely location with wonderful views all around. Very well equipped and had everything we needed; beds and sofas extremely comfortable. We would all be very happy to make a return visit! The only difficulty we had was trying to get the television to work...we could never remember from one day to the next which buttons to press on the handset to get the normal channels! Step by step instructions would be helpful! Thank you for sharing your lovely holiday home.

Bandol is the perfect place for a family holiday.
With 2 Granddaughters aged 1 & 3, Bandol was ideal for them. Plenty of space, both inside and out, and very child friendly. The cottage was very well equipped, there was absolutely nothing that we needed. The location was great, with a 5 minute walk to the coffee shop, village shop, and pubs in Braithwaite and just a short drive into Keswick. The views surrounding the cottage were breathtaking, with rabbits, sheep, and even a pheasant coming to visit. Plenty of walks and places to visit. The wildlife park in Bassenthwaite is a definite “must” especially for little ones. I have been to the Lakes many times, but I think Bandol has really hit the spot and myself and the family can’t wait to return!

It was a very comfortable property, spacious, very well equipped, good car parking space, marvellous views, fabulous bird feeders, great boot management area!
The heating wasn't needed but we could control that and I'm sure it's very welcome at other times. The leaflets/ info might benefit from a sort out but that's very minor point, not a complaint.

Bandol is a lovely bungalow, spacious with 2 large bathrooms with excellent showers and great facilities.
The window overlooking Braithwaite and Skiddaw is wonderful. Sitting looking out in the morning was a joy . There was a wide variety of birds that came to the Bird feeders at the front and back of the bungalow, siskin, spotted woodpecker, chaffinch etc, and even a pheasant tried to join in! The view from the back windows overlooking the Coledale horseshoe was also fantastic. Our daughter has stayed here before and she recommended Bandol - so much she joined us on this trip!

Bandol has been a cottage of choice for us it is well equipped and well placed for the northern mountains.
It has undergone some useful upgrades since our previous stay. The owner has got the formula for the cottage just right in our opinion.

We have been coming to Bandol every year for the past six years, and this was yet another lovely stay.
Great location - amazing views and wonderful walks straight from the door, pub a stone’s throw away plus village shop, cafe and other pub down the road. Bandol is always very clean and is a very spacious holiday home, with plenty of fridge and freezer space and utility/boot room. Would highly recommend.

Bandol is a fabulous property.
It was clean and really well appointed. All the bedrooms are a good size and storage plentiful. The views are incredible and wildlife all around. It was really quiet and peaceful yet only a short walk to the pub and shop in Braithwaite and 5 minute drive into Keswick. The owner and housekeeper were friendly and welcoming. We can’t wait to return.

A fabulous spacious well equipt property with fantastic fell views, the added bonus of rabbits, pheasants and sheep with their lambs in the surrounding fields.
The two local pubs are 200 and 400 yards away and serve good food. We will most definitely book again. Rob of Portsmouth

This holiday house has everything you need for a perfect relaxed holiday whether you want to watch birds from the panoramic window ,walk ,cook or play games and read .
There is space so you never feel cramped . The location is also perfect with many walks from the door and a very well stocked village shop very close nearby .

Fantastic views from all points of the house.
Very large sitting room with panoramic view of the mountains. Very well equipped kitchen with attention to details such as hooks for hanging coats and towels in the bedrooms and bathrooms. Excellent for walking the mountains straight from the door. We enjoyed the most comfortable stay ever. Highly recommended. You won’t be disappointed at all.

Bandol is the best cottage we have stayed in.
It is very comfortable and is extremely well equipped. The accommodation is very spacious allowing 8 guests to have there own space. The owner has thought of every detail to ensure the holiday is a delight from bird feeders to blackout blinds and comfortable settes and chairs . Bandol is in a great location .The views towards Skiddaw are superb and it is in the ideal location for walking in a variety of directions from the door .

We’ve stayed at Bandol many times and have found it to be a wonderful home away from home in terms of comfort and facilities, and also a perfect location for lovely walks both from the back door or to drive from.

We were very pleased with the accommodation and it was an excellent location with good facilities and beautiful views.
The only negative comment we could make was that the master bedroom had not been hoovered as there was quite a lot of long loose hair on the carpet. Also, it would be a good idea to be supplied with two keys for large parties who may be splitting off and doing their own things for the day. Other than, we would certainly use the property again if possible for another large family stay.

Comfortable, spacious and very well equipped. View of Skiddaw across valley from living room is spectacular! Peaceful and relaxing spot. Excellent base for seeing this northern part of Lakes - lovely walks at Derwentwater, Buttermere and Rydal. Pencil Museum in Keswick is genuinely fascinating. Huge thanks to owner - our first trip since September was wonderful and we'll definitely be returning.
