“The Hidden Place is a ‘get away from it all’ lovely holiday house, its location is stunning, placed high above Ullswater lake; the sunrises are worth getting up early for.”

No WiFi was fine, we had two bars generally on EE’s 5G. The bed is comfortable, has a great shower and kitchen well thought out. The only disappointment was the couch, it’s not really a couch anymore, there’s no support in the ‘seat’ and is very uncomfortable, it’s also very low - if that was replaced, we would absolutely recommend to all.

About the location

POOLEY BRIDGE

Penrith 6 miles.

The picturesque village of Pooley Bridge sits on the northerly edge of Lake Ullswater in the Lake District National Park. The name Pooley came to be due to the forming of a large pool, which was left by the fast flowing River Eamont, and the word Bridge was later added when a bridge, which is now 250 years old, was built over the river. Pooley Bridge has many traditional inns and tempting tea rooms, plus the Ullswater Steamers depart from the village, from where a tranquil cruise down the lake to the villages of Glenridding and Howtown can be enjoyed.
