“Everything was in order but a few issues let it down slightly.”
Having stayed in many other properties in the Lakes this was the only cottage that we didn't give 100% feedback
NEGATIVES
Not enough toilet for the rooms (only 1 per room and no spare)
Light bulbs with flies in and cobwebs
A bowl found in the cupboard covered in dried food (Horrendous, given the Covid Pandemic) Everything should have been checked and cleaned thoroughly
Egg stain (appeared to look like) on the bottom of one of the sheets
POSITIVES
Excellent location
Comfortable
Excellent layout
Clean (Except for the above)
Apart from the few negatives, everything was excellent.
Also, although they mentioned 'Credit' in a Dehli in Ambleside, it would have been a nice touch to have milk and bread at least, left in the cottage.
Thank you for taking the time to feedback on your recent stay at Underheron. We are glad to hear you had a lovely week minus some minor issues and found the property to be excellent for you and your family/friends. We appreciate all feedback, and it assists in improvements we can make. Regarding toilet rolls, all Lakelovers properties only usually provide 1 per toilet to start off your stay however it has been passed onto Housekeeping. We apologise for the cleaning issues and these have again been flagged with the team as we always expect high standards of Housekeeping to be provided at all times especially during the COVID pandemic. Lastly regarding a welcome hamper it has been very difficult to source a local company to ensure something is provided before each stay for each guest. We used to use the company which turned into the Deli in Ambleside but unfortunately, they cannot deliver anymore. We hope the voucher did come in use at some point in your stay and again we thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. Many thanks, The Owner and The Lakelovers team

Location
Grasmere is a historic village at the very heart of the Lakes, west of Ambleside and north of Coniston and Hawkshead. The village centre has a number of useful shops, market, tea rooms and a select few very good restaurants - including the Good Food Guide listed Jumble Room.
Although hugely popular with tourists and walkers, Grasmere remains a relaxed village location with a real air of history. In the village you can explore the legacy of artists who've been inspired by the landscapes around the village - of particular note is the Heaton Cooper Studio. The famous poet William Wordsworth lived in Grasmere while writing some of his most famous poetry. His former home can be visited at Dove Cottage & the Wordsworth Museum, and his family grave is one of the most visited literary shrines in the world.
A holiday cottage in Grasmere provides easy access to no end of fabulous Lake District walks. Try the route up to Easedale Tarn in the fells above the village, visit the shores of nearby Rydal Water, or take on Fairfield, Silver How or Loughrigg to name but a few!
Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.

Ambleside 5 miles; Windermere 9 miles; Keswick 13 miles.
Situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park is the lovely village of Grasmere, probably best known as the home of William Wordsworth, a place he once described as "The most loveliest spot that man hath found". Any visit to Grasmere needs to include The Grasmere Gingerbread shop, where the Wilson family has been making gingerbread for over 60 years. Also in the village are a number of shops, pubs, a church which dates back to the 13th century, and Grasmere Lake. Grasmere Sports takes place every August, where you can watch participants compete in a variety of sports, including Cumberland wrestling. Just five miles away is the town of Ambleside and Lake Winderemere where you will find shops, pubs, restaurants and the 17th century Bridge House, which is one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District. Cruises, boat trips and watersports can all be enjoyed on Lake Windermere, and the towns of Windermere and Keswick are also within driving distance. Grasmere is a wonderful base for your Lake District retreat.
