“Beech View was everything we could have hoped for, spacious, very clean, well equipped and the Christmas decorations made it feel even more homely.”

The position was excellent being only a very short walk into Ambleside with all its amenities. We would recommend this property without hesitation.

The property

Beech View is a light and bright house, it nestles in a peaceful location in the popular falls development, just above the village of Ambleside alongside Stock Ghyll Waterfalls and only a 10 minute stroll from the lively centre itself. Walk out into the large garden with patio, an ideal place to enjoy al-fresco living and listening to the soothing flow of the beck and nearby Stock Ghyll Waterfalls. Whether you are celebrating a happy event or just spending time with your favourite people, enjoy the chic bathroom with inbuilt TV, spacious bedrooms and plenty of space throughout. Accommodation in detail Enter through the rear door, straight into the utility room, a great place for storage of walking gear, plenty of space to dry wet clothes etc after a day on the fells. Step into the kitchen, where there is everything you need to cook that hearty breakfast to set you up for the day. Electric induction hob and cooker, American style fridge/freezer, dishwasher, combination oven/microwave and TV. Walk into the open plan lounge/dining room. A great social space where sofas are arranged around the fireplace, relax in front of the TV with your family and friends or indeed read the morning paper with a cup of tea. Sit round the dining room table and whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just spending time together enjoy the view. Patio doors open onto the balcony where you can watch the children enjoying the freedom of the large garden. Several steps lead to the first of three bedrooms. A ground floor king size room with a useful shower room with underfloor heating, WC and wash basin across the hall. Stairs to the first floor lead you to the second king size bedroom, a very spacious room with seating in the recess overlooking the garden, a great area to relax and read a book. The third bedroom a smaller room, suitable for one person with a double bed with views over the back garden. A superb bathroom with underfloor heating, spa bath, WC and vanity unit with basin. Above the spa bath is a mirrored tv, where you can chill after a long walk with maybe a glass of wine. Outside the garden is a must for sunny days and evenings relaxing with friends on the patio and with the constant and gentle sounds of the flowing beck and nearby waterfalls.. You'll always find the ideal spot to relax over a glass of wine in the evening or a coffee and the morning papers! Due to the water at the bottom of the garden and the dangers it may present to adventurous children, parents are advised to remain vigilant. Parking is available for 4 cars and a lockable shed is available for storing mountain bikes etc. Location A holiday cottage in Ambleside provides an excellent starting point for a varied Lake District holiday. Easily accessible via the A591 on the northern shores of Lake Windermere, Ambleside is a contemporary, characterful Lakeland village with a spectacular backdrop of Lake District fells. The location is ideal for walking in the Lake District, with many renowned routes beginning in and around the village. But Ambleside is also a popular choice for a relaxed, slow-paced holiday. Contemporary shops, leisurely lake cruises, acclaimed Lake District restaurants and cosy traditional pubs make the village centre a delight at any time of year. For evening entertainment, you'll find plenty to suit every taste. Try the renowned Glass House restaurant, in a superbly converted saw mill, for a special evening out. Or, take your pick from the two quirky cinemas; Zeffirellis cinema includes a great pizzeria and live jazz bar. Fellinis has an excellent vegetarian restaurant and shows films in a relaxed studio cinema environment. You'll also find a wide range of pubs, serving hearty food and real Lakeland ale - notable for its lake shore setting is the Wateredge Inn. Windermere Lake Cruises depart from Waterhead Pier, just outside Ambleside village centre. The elegant 'steamers' offer regular trips to Bowness and Lakeside - a great way to explore without driving. Evening cruises are also available, sometimes with buffet meals and live music.

About the location

AMBLESIDE

Windermere 4 miles; Grasmere 4 mile; Keswick 15 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
