  • “The cottage is in a fantastic location only a few mins walk from the centre of Ambleside.”

The cottage is spacious and kitchen and bedrooms are good. The bathrooms need to be updated and the owner is aware of this and believe they are doing this shortly.

This 4 bedroom character cottage is part of an elegantly converted Grade II listed chapel, originally built in 1550 and nestled in Ambleside's historic conservation area. Luxurious bedrooms are characterised by their original arched church windows and dramatic exposed beams. Superb amounts of space and a spectacular dining kitchen create a holiday home fit for any occasion; friends, family or even two couples. From the lounge, French windows lead to the chapel garden, and only minutes away you'll find the delights of Ambleside and Lake Windermere at your disposal. What a convenient setting for such an unique Lakeland retreat... == Accommodation in detail Entrance hall leads to the spacious kitchen / dining room with contemporary beech units and large dining table. The light but cosy lounge, with raised flat screen TV, leads through French windows to the garden (table and chairs available) - perfect for al-fresco dining. First floor: Master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, twin bedroom, single bedroom and house bathroom - all with original arched windows and lovely views. Top floor: This floor is dedicated to a special king-size bedroom with wonderful A-frame exposed beams and lots of space to relax. About the location

AMBLESIDE

Windermere 4 miles; Grasmere 4 mile; Keswick 15 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
