After a day of exploring, the budding chef of the group can show off their skills in the well-equipped kitchen, before sampling their creations at the dining table; or if the weather permits, why not enjoy a refreshing beverage in the peaceful, enclosed rear courtyard with furniture. When the sky darkens, retire to one of the two inviting bedrooms: a double and a bunk room, perfect for the little ones. Freshen up in the shower room before completing your evening routine and hunkering down for the night. In the morning, set off and explore the beautiful area of the Lake District National Park, where you can discover the charming town of Grasmere, known as the home of one of the most celebrated poets of the English language, William Wordsworth. Take a stroll and admire the stunning views of the area, or visit the world-famous gingerbread shop! Head towards Windermere to take part in a variety of outdoor activities, such as boat trips, fishing and water sports. Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants, and pubs in the village to suit all tastes, including the popular eateries of Misto, Sheila's Cottage, and The Lily Bar. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force.
