Four Seasons Cottage

We always enjoy our stay at four seasons cottage, we love the lake district.

everything we needed was there except I couldn't find a tea towel which I had to buy one,it did say towels included .we have booked it again for next year because we love it so much .Brilliant location ideal for bus service and shops.

Well presented and maintained property.

It is very clean and it provides most of the required facilities to ensure a comfortable stay. In an ideal location, although a bit noisy at night due to its proximity to the main road. The available parking space is a big plus.

The cottage is well maintained and very comfortable.

The kitchen is well stocked with everything needed to cook meals etc. The beds are comfortable and the linen is spotless. The towels are a generous size and good condition. The private parking space is worth a lot as parking is very limited and expensive in the town. The shower is difficult to access for older guests as climbing over the bath is unnerving to say the least. May I suggest a non-slip bath mat would avoid the worry of slipping on a soapy bath base.

A lovely cozy cottage-perfectly situated for all amenities!

We really enjoyed staying at the cottage it was pure second time and would recommend four seasons cottage to everyone.

A fabulous week's stay for my husband and I.

.. the cottage was a perfect size and well equipped with all we needed for our stay. We only breakfasted there and ate out during the evenings, for with there was plenty of information left by the owners for us to be able to book a table at our choice of restaurant. The beds were comfy and plenty of space in the wardrobes and cupboards. The reason we booked this cottage was for it's town centre location with off road parking and we were extremely pleased with our booking.

This is our second visit to the four seasons.

On entering the cottage your first impression is how clean and fresh it is. It is beautifully furnished, sofa and bed are really comfy. It is ideally situated with walks from the door and the bonus of a parking space. We were lucky with the weather and our car never moved for the whole week. There are some great places to eat and the bus service is really good. Would highly recommend this property we've really enjoyed our stay.

Ideally situated, parking and exceptionally clean. Very well equipped kitchen. Would definitely book again if staying in Ambleside.

This is our 2nd stay in this beautiful cottage.

It is clean, cosy and comfortable, gives you a lovely hug each day when you return from any of the great walks around this area. Parking right outside the door is an added bonus. There are lots of lovely places to eat and drink, all just a 5 minute stroll down the road.

Our second stay at four seasons and we will definitely be back.

The only thing that would have helped us is a hand rail to get in and out of bath. Everything else was perfect thankyou.

We did eat in a few evenings this time unfortunately finding the restaurants in Ambleside too expensive now, everything we needed in the cottage to cook though.Agree the white lines for parking do need repainting but people do have bigger cars nowadays so even then it will remain tricky to get in and out especially when you’re getting older and your body doesn’t twist as it did

The four seasons cottage is perfect in every way.

Very comfortable, superb shower, easy parking, quiet location only a short walk into Ambleside. We will definitely be booking again. Many thanks to the owners for your gesture this was very much appreciated at this difficult time for us.

What a great little cottage, perfect location with parking which is ideal.

The parking spaces aren’t massive and we had a very large car in the space next to us so it was a squeeze. Nothing the owners can do about it, but just something to be aware of if you have a large car as it could be a bit tight. Cottage had everything we needed, very clean which is not always the case with holiday cottages! But this cottage was immaculately clean. I messaged the owner via the Sykes app before arrival to check if the cottage had a hairdryer (which is does), and they got back to me very quickly which was really appreciated. All in all, we had a great stay and would definitely like to stay again and would recommend too.

Excellent location & having dedicated parking is a real bonus.

Good facilities & great shower (which is a rarity!). Bedroom rather small but could use the single as overflow/dressing room as only 2 of us.

Positives : Central to Ambleside.

Lovely property. Nicely decorated. Lovely furnishings. Excellent kitchen and bathroom. Plenty of storage. Central heating fantastic. Negatives: Traffic noise. Lines for parking need repainting. Cleaning was fine, but unfortunately there where some debris left under the double bed. Single mattress uncomfortable, duvet kept falling off. Neighbours porch light left on all night which shone in the bedrooms. Overall a lovely stay.

Lovely cottage and great location.

Very difficult to dry clothes in a wet week in August. Beds really comfy and cot set up before arrival but chairs and sofas were not ideal for sitting.

The cottage was fantastic.

Beautifully clean, comfortable beds with proper pillow and mattress protectors and all the necessary kitchen equipment to enjoy a week away from home. We appreciated the modern decor and comfort provided.

This property was immaculate throughout .

All you need for a great relaxing holiday is provided.Location is perfect and the car park immediately outside the cottage is a big big plus ! This was our fourth stay in Four Seasons Cottage and we were absolutely delighted with everything once again.

Very clean, comfortable, well equipped cottage, in an excellent position.

Near to all the shops and bars that Ambleside has to offer, still very quiet, with added bonus of on-site parking. Already booked a return visit next year.

We had a lovely week at Four Seasons Cottage, it's a great base for exploring the area.

The house is really well kept and clean and has everything that you need for your stay in terms of kitchen equipment and utensils. The bed was very comfortable and we slept really well. It was great having a parking space outside the property, although we did have an inconsiderate neighbour with an excessively big car that used to make getting in to the space difficult, but that's no reflection on the size of the parking spaces that would be perfectly big enough in normal circumstances! There's plenty to do around the area, both close to home and if you want to travel further afield, and we did both. We'll definitely book to stay here again when we come back to Ambleside.

We stayed in another cottage à few doors away from you last year, I can honestly say yours was far better for cleanliness, comfort, and very well equipped.

Perfectly located 5 min work into Ambleside with parking, very clean and everything you'll need, proper home from home would highly recommend

Excellent location, everything needed for stay included.

Very cosy. Already booked again for 3rd stay. Just a note to say you may want to stop the ivy climbing up by the front door. Will look a mess if/when decide to take down. Could damage the slates.

Lovely cottage, very clean, comfortable & cosy.

We travelled up by train, so it was really convenient for walking out from the door and catching the bus.

We liked the clean and modern condition of the property- this was our second stay.

Noticed the fire in the living room area is still not working and the chair there is not comfortable.

Another fabulous stay in our favourite cottage arrived during a heavy snow storm cottage was so warm and cosy Christmas decorations were lovely.

We have been several times to Four Seasons , and have already booked to go there in 2024. An added bonus is the reserved parking space by the vottage

Excellent cottage in a great location with an added bonus of a parking space right outside.

Nice and peaceful with easy access to everything we wanted for our holiday. Really enjoyed our time and would recommend the property to anyone . Just a couple of suggestions that we thin would make things a little better for guests 1) Have some hand soap in kitchen as when preparing food etc this would be useful. 2) Only 1 toilet roll available - did not find any replacements - not sure if this was stated on the booking etc but we brought some just in case. Overall a very nice cottage which fully met our expectations - thank you very much Paul and Jamie Samuel

This cottage was ideally situated, 5 minutes walk to shops and buses, 10 minutes walk to Lake, with the bonus of parking on site.

Well furnished, very clean and easy to keep cool in summer heat. Excellent refurbished bathroom, comfortable beds and adequately fitted kitchen. Would definitely look at booking again.

This was our third stay in this cottage and we enjoyed our stay even more than before.

The cottage was spotlessly clean as always.Equipment was plentiful and the beds so comforatble and cosy. Car parking in the courtyard is a massive plus.The cottage is a credit to the owners and the cleaner/s.

Lovely cottage in a great location.

Excellent value for money (at the time we booked). We did some beautiful walks and would definitely return to the cottage as a base to do more in the area.

Lovely property, very clean and well equipped, good location, and very comfortable.

Only a minor thing, a chopping board would have been nice in addition to the glass heatproof worktop board. We would book again as the property is lovely but, the only thing that would potentially put us off is the fact that there is no washing machine. We did know this when we booked and there is a launderette nearby, but who wants to spend their precious holiday time in a launderette?

Very high standard of accommodation with a cosy feel.

Shame fire in sitting area was not working. Bath could benefit from a grab handle on wall side.

Second time here for New Year's Eve.

Impressed by cleanliness and facilities the first time and glad to see the high standards maintained ( with exception of mattress covers which were stained). Close to everything you need in Ambleside and as a poor sleeper the extra cozy little bedroom is really handy.

Four Seasons is an excellent cottage for two.

Spotlessly clean, nicely decorated and furnished and very well equipped for self catering. We found the cottage to be very comfortable and relaxing. This is our second stay this year and we would not hesitate to book again.

Had a fantastic week in this fantastic cottage was literally like home from home no complaints and tried booking for next April but think it’s fully booked not surprised to be honest but we will definitely return and recommend this lovely cottage thank you so much

Everything was fine, a small point however, there was no storage space for our provisions, being a self-catering holiday we obviously brought a weeks supply of 'stuff' with nowhere to store it.

...apart from that it was top notch!!

It's central for shops, restaurants, bus station etc.

The toilet does not flush as efficiently as it might.

We have just spent a wonderful week At your cottage.

In terms of comfort, Cleanliness and the provision of facilities we were extremely happy. If we had to make any criticism which on a minor basis isn't really necessary, we would just like to mention the addition of the following comforts. Small touches such as waste paper bins, boxes of tissues, bin bags and spare light bulbs would crown a otherwise perfect stay in to an unbeatable standard.

Our second stay at Four Seasons Cottage.

Though small it is really conveniently situated only a couple of minutes level walk from all the facilities of Ambleside. A great base from which to explore the surrounding fells. Easy off road parking and an excellent rainfall shower in the bathroom are big plus’s to the property. The cottage is well maintained and was very clean on arrival. One minor criticism; the leather sofa and armchair are very deep (for smaller adults) a few more cushions would be appreciated. We enjoyed our stay, thanks.

Fantastic Cottage in a great location (2 minutes walk into the centre of Ambleside).

Cottage was clean and very comfortable. Would definitely stop here again.

The suite in the living room looked nice enough but it we found it to be uncomfortable to sit on as it was very low and the seats were too soft which resulted in us sinking into them.

Other than that the cottage was perfect.This visit was our second and we would certainly stay there again.

I have booked with Heart of the Lakes for many years ,and had some lovely cottages.

This cottage however was extremely lovely it had everything we needed and was so comfortable. Having its owen parking was why we chose this one and it was brilliant having your car at the door .will definitely be back to this great cottage.

Four Seasons is an excellent cottage, ideally situated and with the benefit of dedicated parking.

We found the cottage to be clean, comfortable and nicely decorated and furnished. The kitchen is well planned and well equipped although more beer and wine glasses and teaspoons would be useful. Referring to previous reviews we found no issues with privacy or the heating and hot water systems, nor did we feel a washing machine was needed. A great cottage, we booked again whilst we were there!

Nothing to do with the cottage only the company we had to move this holiday a year on because of covid things went back to normal before we arrived only to discover the prices had gone back to pre covid the cottage week before and week after was £200 cheaper we are pensioners so that is a lot of money to us feel the company took advantage did query this but obviously wasn’t interested

A lovely cottage situated in a great location within Ambleside.

It had everything that we needed for our stay.

Compact cottage which suited our needs , place was spotless when we arrived.

Could possibly do with a bit more crockery but apart from that we enjoyed our stay. We couldn’t get shower temperature as hot as we would have liked but was working fine. Bed was very comfy with spare pillows etc supplied. No issues with heating, Hive timer ensured always warm throughout. The entrance vestibule was always very cold and wasn’t really suitable to drying wet clothing or shoes - well not in February anyway! Would still recommend and would consider staying in Four Seasons in future.

Very clean and comfortable accommodation.

The only problem we had was the television did not work for the first 2days. Thank you for supplying the towels this helped that I didn’t have to wash towels when I returned home. I would return.

Great little place to stay.

Much cleaner than most Heart of the Lakers properties. Decent quality furnishings made it feel like home, close to everything but no washing machine kind of let it down. Hard to go walking for a week and not be able to wash stuff.

Excellent property, however I could find no information on how the central heating worked which would have been handy as the times the heating was set to go on and off did not fit with the times we were in the cottage.

Excellent location and spotlessly clean cottage - great.

The cottage was nice but a couple of things would of made it better .

Blinds or nets at the window . There was only curtains so for privacy having to close the curtains all day. No washing machine which was disappointing you need that . Also no hair dryer which I couldn’t believe I had to leave my hair wet wasn’t good.

I had to buy a hairdryer and an egg cup - pretty basic/standard items - no big deal but would have been good if these had already been installed in the cottage.

Some vertical/privacy blinds would be nice - as the sofa faces the car park we were on show and so not very relaxing unless the curtains were closed. We love pet free propertys - much more hygienic, thank you. But unfortunately during our 2nd week Juniper Cottage/next door had a dog which barked in the middle of the night and ruined a couple of days holiday as were so tired - not nice being woken at 3.30 a.m. on more than one occasion. Obviously this is out of your hands but I think you should be made aware that this can be an issue. Happy for you to publish my feedback if ANONYMOUS. Thank you.

The location was excellent ,the courtyard was nice and quiet away from traffic ,the cottage was lovely ,hope to go back again

We had a good holiday in this lovely little cottage.

The location and cleanliness was excellent , it was one of the best places that we have stayed in .

4th visit to the property at this time of year always has been well looked after.
