it is however spoiled by the management company's poor attention to detail. I will explain: Weird Fish T Shirt, socks and underpants were left in the wardrobe, all dirty. Dirty linen left in the main bedroom basket. No toilet rolls and only found the dishcloth after we bought some since they were wrapped up in the spare bin bag. Radio does not work and did not work last year. Balcony unusable and was unusable last year too, Planning sought in January 2025 but was unusable April 2024 and before. Heating hot upstairs and cold down which is where you need the heating for bathrooms and bedrooms. bath needs the mastic replacing. Cannot find the bins despite touring round to find them. Some bulbs do not work in the lounge and bedroom. Main bedroom shower trickles and cannot was your hair. 3 bedrooms for 6 people and only one parking spot. We have been coming to The Falls for 30 years, initially Heart of the Lakes and this management company is the worst ever, we paid £840 for 6.5 days which is £130 per day. We will not rent this apartment again.

Firstly, as owners of the property, I apologise profusely for the state you found the apartment in with dirty linen and washing left behind. There should have been toilet rolls and a washing up pack left for you on arrival. Also, light bulbs should have been replaced. This is absolutely not acceptable and we have taken this up with Lakelovers/Sykes. We will also ask them to check the heating and the issues with the bath and shower. Had you reported the problems to Lakelovers at the time of your stay, the team would have come out to rectify the problems. However, please allow me to address the other issues you raise. We were at the property a short time ago and the radio was working. However, we will ensure that this is checked. There is an information folder at the property containing details of bins, local services, etc. Parking - as the website states, there are two spaces at the property - one behind the other. There are also visitor spaces available very close to the apartment which are marked with a V. With regards the balcony, the renovation is the responsibility of the Falls Management Company not individual owners. It has been a long and complicated process mainly due to changes in building regulations which have required a complete redesign of the balcony by structural engineers to meet long term future needs. Again, the website description clearly states that the balcony is out of use. We are sorry that you feel you would not rent our property again but can assure you that all of these issues will be addressed as a matter of urgency. Property Owner

About the location

AMBLESIDE

Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
