A great place to stay.

Spotlessly clean and well equipped - a great place to live for the week

Although the property was described as coming with its own parking and was the reason I chose it as Ambleside gets very busy.

I was disappointed to find on arrival, and for successive 4 nights I was unable to use the dedicated space as it was occupied by another car. I couldn’t establish who the owners were. I had to park on a busy road which was not convenient. This was not what we booked. A fan would have been nice due to the unprecedented heat!

Fantastic property in an ideal location, lovely and clean with everything you need to enjoy a holiday.

The property was clean and tidy and well located in the town.

We would recommend that you advise future occupants follow the notes where the property is and NOT use their satnav solely. We hope this will help in the future. Kind Regards Andrew and Jan

Really nice cottage for two people.

Liked the storage in the entry hall, kitchen was well equipped and had staples like salt and pepper which always helps. Plenty of space in the bedroom for luggage and clothing. We do not usually revisit places, but if it is available next time we are looking I would definitely stay here again.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable and set in an ideal position in Ambleside with off-road parking.

We would definitely book again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others. All in all a great stay in a lovely cottage.

It was equipped with everything we needed. The location is fantastic for the centre / bus . We are looking to book next year.

A delightful cottage.

although it looks small from the outside, it's more like the TARDIS inside - very spacious. Has everything you need for a long stay or short break holiday. Ideally located 5 mins from the town centre with the added bonus of off street parking. Would happily recommend Juniper cottage to anyone.

The property is in a great location and we had a fantastic time away.

It is a comfortable place with enough appliances, and we would definitely stay again and recommend to others. The only bug bear is the storage heaters (which is stated). Private parking outside is always a bonus.

The cottage was “Absolutely Superb” in every detail.

Our stay in Juniper Cottage was everything we hoped it would be.

The booking itself was very easy and I liked the way we had updates before our holiday, it was all very straightforward. The cottage was very comfortable and lovely to come back to after a day out. It was very well equipped with everything we could possibly need, the bed was very comfortable and the parking outside was a bonus. we would definitely book again and recommend it to others.

Great cottage and location would be happy to return.

I am not convinced that it is reasonable to ask guests to strip the bed on departure; whereas it is reasonable to ask that the accommodation is left clean and tidy.

All i,m going to say that its was a beautiful cottage well maintained very very clean and comfortable, We unfortunately did not stay the full days we were booked for but that has nothing to do with the cottage or its facilities.

Although the cottage is in a great location for getting around the Lake District it is very dated and not particularly clean!

!! I removed the sheets when I was leaving to find a huge urine stain on the mattress cover which actually smelt and the owner would not accept any responsibility for this!!!! I was disgusted to think I had spent a week in this bed!!!!

Perfect location in Ambleside, close to shops and restaurants and central for visiting the whole of the Lakes.

This is our second stay at Juniper Cottage, we will be back again next year!

The cottage is an ideal base for holidaying in the Lakes.

This was my third time at the cottage so I knew what to expect.

The cottage was clean and comfortable and provided everything I required. The only thing I will mention is that the Wi-Fi signal is very weak but I assume that’s due to the location of the cottage.

On arriving at Juniper Cottage we were very pleased parking and location was great.

On opening the door the porch was dirty cobwebs on the floor, kitchen was clean, the living area was dusty, upstairs the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned dark hairs in the bath, and a dirty floor. The bedroom was okay but on stripping the bed the mattress cover was stained. I can only conclude that the owner rely’s on the previous weeks tenants to clean the property as we left it in a better state than we found it.

We had a fabulous 5 nights at Juniper Cottage.

The location was perfect for walking into the village for meals. Facilities were excellent and the cottage is also centrally located for the whole Lakes. We will go again.

An excellent place to stay, amazing facilities and close to all the main attractions.

A great base to explore the lake district.

This was my second visit to this property.

I am an amateur photographer and the property is in an ideal location for where I want to take photographs. The on-sight parking and closeness to the centre of Ambleside is also a bonus. My only criticism of the property is that it is quite dark inside.

Everything you need and so dog friendly, even down to spare dog bowls. Will definitely book again.

The property was well situated close to all amenities.

Although small the house was equipped with everything you would need. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to friends. Ilsa our dog loved all the great walks.

We really enjoyed our time at juniper cottage ,accommodation had all you could wish for,clean ,cozy,and comfortable ,also very close to the centre of ambleside only a 5 minute walk ,my only small concern was regarding our little dog .

as the cottage more or less was open to a main road and no garden it made it a bit awkward as the nearest place to exercise her was rothay park a 15 minute walk down a steep hill ,otherwise can't fault at all.

This cottage was very comfortable and very functional.

The kitchen contained a lot of equipment and was set out in a very convenient way. The cottage was warm and the bed was extremely comfortable. It was in a particularly convenient location for Ambleside and the car parking space saved a lot of searching and expense.

V central and such a plus having a car park space. Think lock to door might need some attention as we struggled to open it sometimes.

Property very dusty.

Worrying during current situation made us wonder about general cleanliness. Good inch of dust on pictures window ledges and light shades over kitchen work surfaces.

The cottage was in an ideal location with lots to do within easy walking distance.

A big bonus was onsite parking. The cottage is small but was fine for the two of us. One or two areas were a little dusty but overall the place was clean and tidy on arrival. There was everything we needed in the cottage for our stay. Definite choice for another visit to Ambleside.

Cottage was well situated and well equipped but it was very dirty.

Dirty dishes in cupboard with food on, dirty soiled toilet, cobwebs and food left in cupboards. Have taken pictures as had to spend over an hour cleaning before we unpacked! Would use Sykes again but would not stay here

Juniper Cottage is in a very convenient location and the parking space was a bonus.

The local bus services are excellent and there are lovely walks from the doorstep. When the weather was wet, we could stay and be very comfortable in the cottage. We would happily stay there again.

Brilliant place but one big negative.

Needs a king size bed and super king size bedding. It’s a big bedroom and chest of drawers could be moved

This is a lovely, well appointed cottage in a great location, close to the town centre but avoiding the one way system allowing easy access.

The house is too hot! The heating system had labels on throughout the house asking not to be turned off. At this time of year when some days temperatures were in the high twenties this was just madness and meant that we had to have the windows open 24/7. This can’t be environmentally friendly or economical. There is a strange smell permeating from the under stairs cupboard. We masked it with spray but it might need looking at and identifying We would stay here again

This was our third visit to Juniper Cottage, we love this cosy cottage.

There is everything you need for a weeks stay. The cottage is ideally located within a short walk to the shops. It also has its own parking space.

We had a great week staying at Juniper Cottage in Ambleside, the cottage was clean, comfortable and very well equipped.

The cottage was very well situated, a two min walk to the town centre. Couldn't have wished for better. Will be returning.

The cottage is in a great location, had good facilities and on the face of it is an excellent place to stay, but on arrival the bathroom was unclean - apparent urine behind the toilet seat, down the back of the toilet, in the bowl, and a drip on the floor.

The sink was also grimy as was the bath. It clearly hasn’t had a proper clean for a long time as it’s very dusty above the bathroom mirror and also around the skirting boards. The kitchen bin also hadn’t been emptied from the previous occupants. The cleanliness needs to be addressed as you don’t want to travel hundreds of miles to do what the cleaner should be doing. I emailed Sykes twice and had no response. Unfortunately for these reasons I wouldn’t stay again.

We had a very enjoyable stay.

The cottage is very handy for all cafes shops and pubs.We have stayed at Junipers sister cottage Heather cottage before but found this one more suitable for a couple, especially when we got the booking through a cancelation, being much cheaper.

Really well equipped cottage,great base for a walking holiday.

The only slight downside is that there is no garden ,and if like us you have a dog,there is at least a 5 minute walk to the local park for them to go to the toilet,not great last thing at night,or first thing in the morning.

Everything was superb could not find fault Juniper Cottage in Ambleside take a bow .

I loved the fact that as well as being lovely and clean, it was fantastically equipped.

There were even baking tins and scales - I could have baked a cake if I'd had time. We had our own parking, it was within walking distance of the town, and was quiet and peaceful. The furnishings were comfortable and clean and the bedroom was lovely. It was great to come 'home' to at the end of a day on the fells. The lobby had shelves for our boots & rucksacks and there was a radiator too, so that our things dried, without cluttering the rest of the house up.

Very clean with really good facilities.

The cottage was as it was described, very comfortable , clean and ideally situated for us.

Close to all local amenities and on site parking was an advantage. Only slight disappointment was in regards supplies. We had one toilet roll for two people for a week. We had a third of a kitchen roll and a small amount of washing up liquid. We didn’t have any soap powder. With other cottages there has always been an adequate supply of such items, not sure if that’s what we should expect. That said it didn’t spoil our holiday and have already booked another holiday for 2019 with Sykes Cottages.

Beautiful setting ,just outside Ambleside ,a two minute easy walk into the town centre and a ten minute walk to the banks of Windermere.

The house has private parking in the courtyard with plenty of room to load unload. The House is plenty big enough for a couple and two dogs ,perfect . Everything you require is included ,the bedroom is fantastic ,a massive Television ,lovely welcoming double bed and very warm and cosy. We had a fantastic break.

The cottage is a lovely place to stay to use as a base for traveling around the lakes it was in a nice area of town, very quiet but with within very easy reach of all the shops, bars and cafes.

Would recommend this place to family and friends.

Cottage was lovely,clean and warm and we would definitely stay there again.

My only slight issue was the note that was left to strip the bed linen on departure. I think it is reasonable to ask visitors to leave the cottage clean and tidy but it is unreasonable to expect them to have to do everything as you would expect the property to be re-cleaned thoroughly before the next guests arrive. There are hotels that charge less money and you would not be expected to do that for them.
