“Lovely property, appreciated the amount of crockery as it meant could fill dishwasher even when not using plates, bowls etc in a even amounts, which is so often a problem in rental properties.”

We had trouble with the key safe with the key getting in the way of the mechanism making it hard to open. Directions were difficult to follow in the dark as all the house names were not visible. Good to have a parking space.

The property

The tumbling waters of Stock Ghyll Beck are a significant feature of this rather unusual apartment.

Leafy Nook literally perches over the water with its balcony cantilevered out over the falls - the sound of water is never far away. Our clients who stay at The Falls enjoy the setting - it is handy for the centre of Ambleside and equally well placed for many walks and rambles in the delightful heart of the Lake District. Accommodation: The front door is reached over a small bridge leading into the entrance hall with room to hang coats and leave boots etc.

Hallway leads off to separate wc with basin.

New large open plan kitchen/living/dining room with sofa and flat screen TV.

Spacious separate sitting room with flat screen TV and two sets of French doors leading to the balcony which runs down two sides of the property overlooking the river. Stairs from the hallway lead down to three bedrooms.

Master bedroom with king size bed overlooking the river with TV, en-suite shower, wc, basin and bidet.

Twin bedroom also overlooking the river, and a further single room.(with double bed) Newly fitted family bathroom has bath with shower over, basin and wc. Furnishings throughout are modern and comfortable with co-ordinating decor and many personal touches.

The property has a really welcoming feel and is warm and comfortable in any season with gas central heating and hot water.

Fitted carpets throughout with cushioned vinyl in the kitchen and bathrooms. Outside: Balcony with seating leading off the lounge area through two sets of French windows.

Good views of The Falls with surrounding mature trees.

Private parking for one car under a carport, other visitors shared parking on site.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.

About the location

AMBLESIDE

Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
