What guests are saying
Place was lovely and cosy.
Well situated for bus and walk in Ambleside. The only thing we did not like was only one toilet and that was up 2 flights of stairs. Had a lovely time here
The cottage was in the perfect location, we stayed with our 2 small children and the Grandparents.
The place was great for all ages with cot, stair gate and high chair available. We only had a short stay and would have loved to have stayed longer. We were able to leave the house and walk straight into the village to enjoy the shops, pubs and scenery. Parking was good and we decided to leave the car parked for our stay and use public transport, we went to the Beatrix Potter experience which was magical. The house was perfectly located, clean and comfortable. We are British but living in Australia so to come to a little cottage in the Lakes was lovely and gave us a lovely experience of the area. Having the bedrooms on different levels meant we could be on the same floor as the children and the grandparents could escape upstairs away from any noisy kids! Overall, a great stay.
While in a great location close to the centre and yet quiet, we had to cut our 3 day stay short as this property was far from ideal for us.
The two old sofas are small and very uncomfortable so no relaxing after a long day out. The beds are hard, the stairs are steep and the bathroom is up two flights of them on the 3rd floor. No cold running water to have a bath, toilet not fixed solidly to the floor and doesn't flush unless you pump the handle several times and the sink in the single bedroom moves if you lean on it! Not a great stay I'm afraid. Would not recommend.
