The property

Standing close to the lake, Neddy Cut features a photo of an otter to represent its idyllic position.

Inside, the fabulous, sociable open living area has a glass-effect wall and the cottage is furnished with comfortable sofas, a woodburning stove and underfloor heating.

Two super king-size double bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms and one twin bedroom with an en-suite bathroom all help to make this cottage an ideal base for a relaxing break.

Outside you can find a hot tub surrounded by a marvellous decking and shared lawns, set within an encapsulating dry stone for ultimate privacy where you can enjoy the sun for most of the day next to the lake and woodland views.

Also younger visitors will love the Aquarium of the Lakes at Lakeside. The pretty, priory village of Cartmel is three miles away and has a fantastic collection of inns, award-winning restaurants and shops, Cartmel Priory and children's playground, and the last weekend of May is the start of the racing season. The small village of Backbarrow sits by the banks of the River Leven and the southern tip of Lake Windermere. The famous Haverthwaite Steam Railway runs close by the village between Haverthwaite and Lakeside.
