“This is our 2nd visit to this property.”

We are 3 families that are related so we can either do our own thing on the different levels or as we mostly did, gathering in the kitchen for games, meals, or just chilling. The lounge is plenty big enough for all of us to use (9 people in total) for watching TV. The Barn is close enough to Cartmel, Grange,or Lindale for days out, yet set in the rambling country side for peace and quiet. The house is impeccably clean and well maintained and we are definitely going to book again for next year.

“Beautiful big house in a great location.”

Everything we could need was provided in the house. Great pub in the village. Lovely venue for a family holiday. Peaceful area of South Lakes, but close enough to busier areas of Windermere, Bowness etc if desired.

“We had a lovely time and overall the house was clean.”

There was plenty of room for us all and the photos were accurate for the rooms. The kitchen needs updating and we struggled to cook in the oven as there was 8 adults even Jacket potatoes took a lot longer than expected. It would benefit from more mugs and glasses as was 8 or less which meant a lot of washing up. We enjoyed our multi generational stay and the beds were comfy. It is in a great location with parking for trips to Bowness, Grange and Sizegh castle.

“We were absolutely delighted with the Horse and Farrier Barn, and cannot recommend it highly enough.”

Everything you could need was provided. The house was beautifully decorated, and furnished to a very high standard. Everything was spotlessly cleaned. Your comfort is guaranteed. The garden is spacious, with plenty of seating provided. The lovely garden is very well tended and maintained. We particularly liked the friendly sheep in the adjoining field, which came right up to the kitchen window to say hello. All in all, a wonderful experience. Thanks to the great care given by the owners to ensure visitors' complete satisfaction.

“The best accommodation we have stayed in!”

Location wonderful. Rooms and ensuites better that many hotels. Views stunning. Very well equipped and wanted for nothing. Thoughtful Bottle of wine and chocs for us on arrival. Beautiful garden and a few minutes walk to farm with fresh eggs! Some great pubs, Kings Arms, Cartmel, Royal oak, Lindale, Tea Room, Masters House, Kendal, Albion Inn, Arnside. Would not recommend Yew Tree Barn. Rude and surly staff. Overpriced food. Haverigg beach great for kids and dogs and walkers. You will not be disappointed with this property.

“Great house in a lovely location with fabulous views.”

Everything clean. Very comfy beds. Bathrooms all seem recently updated. Great round table big enough for 9 in the kitchen. Lounge a bit sparse and not very cosy , so would benefit from a bit of tlc.

We had a lovely stay in horse and Farrier barn we thought it was a bit on the expensive side for 3 nights , the kitchen is in need off a bit off renovation looking a bit tired , but the location was lovely , views all in all we had a lovely stay

“Had an amazing stay for 3 nights over Christmas with a big family get-together.”

Beautiful house which is very homely with high quality fixtures and facilities, didn't want to leave! Fantastic scenic location with sheep coming right up to the kitchen window and a view of mountains as the backdrop. Kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans so we successfully cooked a Christmas dinner for 9. The owners went above and beyond, the house was tastefully decorated for Christmas and we had even been left some extra trays to cook turkey in. Could not recommend a stay at Horse and Farrier Barn more strongly!

“We are a family of 3 generations.”

We found the Horse and Farrier Barn suitable for all of us. The 3 bathrooms were a god send! Everything is very clean and comfortable. We spent most of the time in the kitchen /dining area which leads to a lovely, well kept garden. The sheep in the field next to the barn were very friendly, and curious! Even coming to the window to see us!!

“All absolutely lovely !”

only thing i could think of is a blind would be nice on the kitchen window as the sun shines directly in at sunset and was slightly annoying. but other than that absolutely perfect !
