    “Beautifully appointed cottage in the South Lakes.”

    Spotlessly clean and beds very comfortable. A lot of effort and expertise has been used when renovating this property to an exceptional standard. Location is ideal for accessing the Lakes and surrounding areas. We were lucky enough to enjoy sitting in the garden in the evening, using the cushions and couple of throws for the chairs. Highly recommend this cottage 5*

The property

Nestled on the outskirts of the Lake District National Park in the rural village of Grizebeck, rests this semi-detached cottage, Brookside. Drive down the narrow lane to reach the white-washed cottage where you can leave your vehicle in the ample off-road parking spaces and admire the far-reaching views of Cumbria. Stroll up the path, with lawned areas either side and furniture to bask in the sun on warm days. Open the duck-egg door into the entrance hall, here you can kick-off your walking boots and house your jackets. Discover the stylish kitchen/ diner, with a spacious layout and a spotlight ceiling; the designated chef can make use of the electric oven and halogen hob to rustle up mouth-watering dishes. There is also a microwave, kettle, toaster, and dishwasher so you don't need to worry about making a mess! Settle down at the circular dining table to enjoy meals together and why not uncork a bottle of wine and toast to your countryside hideaway? Stepping through the property, locate the charming sitting room, with its crackling woodburning stove and Smart TV to enjoy as you unwind on the plush sofas. Climb up the stairs from the sitting area to reach the first floor to find the family bathroom, where you can melt your stresses away in the P-shaped bath or opt for refreshing rinse in the overhead shower. The first floor also hosts three beautifully appointed bedrooms; choose between a king-size, a double and a single bedroom, all providing storage space to house your belongings. Why not spend the day at the small town of Ulverston, where you can test your swing at the superb gold course, see your favourite characters at Laurel and Hardy Museum and browse gift shops along the bustling, cobbled streets. Surrounded by mountain peaks and pretty villages is Lake Windermere, here you can tour the large lake, have an action-packed time at the Windermere Outdoor Adventure Centre and revisit childhood tales at The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction. Grizebeck is set on the border of the Lake District National Park with spectacular panoramic views of the Duddon Estuary, Furness Fells and the Coniston mountains. Grizebeck is set in pretty countryside and superb for those wanting to spend some time away from it all. In the village there is a pub serving local brews and evening meals , the local garage has a small shop ideal for essentials. A few minutes’ drive takes you to the village of Kirkby-in-Furness which is home to a general store and two pubs as well as a railway station. East of Kirkby-in-Furness takes you to the market town of Ulverston, which is well known for its street markets and festivals at different times of the year. A few minutes’ drive will also take you to Broughton-in-Furness which has three pubs, Beswicks Restaurant, a bakery, two cafés, deli, butchers, Post Office and Tourist Information. Coniston is a 20 minute drive and Windermere is 25 minutes' drive away if you want to take part in some Lakeland activities. Grizebeck is ideally placed for visiting a variety of the Lake District attractions including the South Lakes Animal Park near Dalton, Dalton Castle, Muncaster Castle and the Ravenglass Railway.
