Very comfortable and spotlessly clean

We stayed at coney Garth farm from 19th September for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The owner Julie welcomed us and explained everything about the cottage, heating, wi-fi etc, there was also a lovely welcome pack waiting for us which contained prosecco, cream scones, cake and cookies which was much appreciated. The cottage had every home comfort you could think of, beautifully decorated and very clean. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Lovely property in a lovely location.

Super friendly hosts - Julie felt as much like a new friend as a welcoming host. Only niggle was slightly patchy WIFI though Julie made every effort to address. Overall would very happily look forward to a return trip. Thank you and best wishes - Anne and Graham

We picked Coney Garth Barn as a base for our anniversary break, and we could not have been happier with our choice.

We cycled to Whitehaven, walked the coastal path from Netherton Station to Saint Bees, had a picnic by Wastwater with Britain’s Favourite View before us, and spent our final afternoon relaxing at Seascale and Drigg Sand. All our adventures were possible because of Coney Garth Barn’s great location. Returning to the cottage each evening was such a pleasure, as it had everything you could want after a day’s exploring. Julie, the warm and welcoming owner, has created something quite special. After hours on your feet, sitting on the super-comfy sofa with its lovely view of the patio and garden is a true cup-of-tea-and-biscuit moment. On our last evening, with perfect timing, Julie surprised us with some delicious home-baked carrot cake, scones, jam and clotted cream, which made a memorable stay even more special. Thank you, Julie.

Absolutely superb accommodation - it’s truly the best of the best Sykes properties we have ever stayed in.

The location is set in a fabulous location, ideal for visiting local beaches as well as days out in the lakes. Julie the owner runs a tight ship and everything in the cottage is beautifully laid out, spotlessly clean and top notch quality! More owners should take a leaf out of her book on how to run a holiday let. Thank you Julie et al, we left Beckermet feeling relaxed and refreshed!

We’ve had one of the best holidays we’ve ever had this week at Coney Garth Barn.

The perfect, spotlessly clean and very comfortable base from which to explore the surrounding area, to include the coast at St Bees and Seascale, the lakes at Buttermere and Wastwater, Muncaster Castle, the Ravenglass railway and more. Julie & Geoff made us very welcome and although they live nextdoor, they weren’t at all intrusive. Julie gave us lots of info and suggestions on where to visit. The food at the local pub in the delightful village of Beckermet, The White Mare, was very nice…. we ate there three times, but they don’t serve food Monday & Tuesday… we found that to be the case at a few other places around and about, so bear that in mind when planning your dining. The weather has been exceptionally good which was the icing on the cake, but I’m sure if it had rained all week, then we would have been happy to comfortably relax back at Coney Garth Barn…. Plenty of DVDs and books to keep you entertained . We had the opportunity to view the other two adjacent cottages too and these were also both beautiful and charming. I’m sure that we will happily return to any one of them at some point in the future and will highly recommend them to friends. Thanks again, Julie and Geoff for helping to make the perfect holiday. An absolute gem

Coney Garth Barn is fab.

Spotlessly clean, well furnished and very comfortable. We loved our stay here and it is so convenient for the Western Lakes, especially Ennerdale, Wasdale and Eskdale. We will definitely return. Thank you.

Loved every minute of it.

Great property, we were hoping to eat at the Village pub, but found out that it was closed on 2 out of the 4 nights we were there.

Also Village shop had closed. Fortunately we had taken bread and milk with us.

The owners were perfect hosts, very welcoming and friendly.

A very nice property that was very comfortable.

I would suggest a little more information regarding the heating (no instructions are provided). a) a note to warn newcomers that the underfloor heating has a very long lag time but if turned up too high it will take a long time to cool. b) a note as to how to set the upstairs radiators and towel rails

We really enjoyed our stay at Coney Garth Barn.

The owner was very helpful when showing us details of the property and also is very knowledgeable about the area. We did have difficulty finding good places for eating out in an evening. Once we did find a good place we returned there more than once but we always had to travel.

A great property well equipped and located to access the Western Fells and Lake District just as we wanted .

The house is spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean with high quality fixtures and fittings. Julie and Geoff are great hosts who are friendly and helpful. We had good weather and we’re able to enjoy the garden which is a real sun trap. Beckermet is a charming village, close to lovely beaches as well as the fells.

I think this is probably the best holiday house we have stayed in.

It was so comfortable and well catered. Having use of the washing machine after some wet walks was appreciated and we felt very much at home. The hosts were incredibly hospitable and even made us scones when we returned from a walk up Scafell Pike! Thanks so much.

Absolutely beautiful cottage in a lovely part of the Lake District.

The cottage had everything we needed and loads of space for a family of four. We loved the location and visited Wastwater, Ennerdale, St Bee’s and Ravenglass. All a short drive away. Thank you for such a warm welcome we would love to return.

Exactly what you would expect from a holiday cottage and more.

It’s the first holiday cottage we’ve stayed in that we didn’t have to clean any of the pans and utensils, everything was so clean. Couches and beds were very comfortable too. Many thanks to Julie for her lovely baking treats. Only downside was we couldn’t get any signal on our mobiles but that’s nothing to do with the property. Would highly recommend this property to anyone.

accurately decribed, if anything, exceeded expectations!

. very friendly and helpful owner, would certainly return. The surrounding area is relatively low on facilities and requires a bit of forward planning re shopping, where and what to visit, etc. There are quite adequate nice walks and spectacular scenery to be found within perhaps a 20 mile radius including seaside, mountains, and tourist venues which were pleasantly uncrowded. A great opportunity for relaxation.

This is a very comfortable and well appointed cottage.

Julie is an excellent host and made us feel very welcome. She was helpful with all our enquiries. Nothing was too much trouble and the homemade scones and jam were very well received by my wife and Mother-in-Law. Beckermet is a lovely place to stay and close to several Cumbrian coastal villages and towns.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in this beautiful property. The house was very clean and comfortable in a nice little village. It was only a two minute walk from the two village pubs and a children’s playground. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful throughout. There were some lovely welcome treats when we arrived and Julie brought round fresh baking part way through the stay as well which was a really nice surprise, thank you for everything! Spare towels, in particular hand towels, would be helpful. The only other addition we would suggest would be more glasses in the kitchen, particularly bigger glasses for diluting juice! Many thanks again.

The cottage was very comfortable and an ideal base for our holiday.

The surroundings are bright and cheery, with lots of little extras provided. Thanks to Julie for excellent home baking and the other little extras provided at the cottage. The village pub within walking distance for a meal was a bonus, and there was lots of information on the local area provided in the cottage folder. A very good base to explore from.

The owners were very kind and welcoming, and the information pack was comprehensive.

The Barn is very comfortable and quiet and Beckermet is well situated with 2 pubs in the village and the A595 nearby providing rapid north-south travel. The west side of the Lake District National park is quieter than the east, with good access to excellent walking at Loweswater, Eskdale, Coniston and the coast (St Bees Head & Millom are recommended). Be prepared for poor phone reception in the village which can cause problems when coordinating a group, but that did not detract from a very enjoyable stay and Coney Garth is recommended.

Really enjoyed the comfort and relaxation opportunity of this lovely barn.

The village pub was very nice and local amenities were only a short 3-4 miles away in Egremont. It was a great base for exploring some of the local attractions and we found some great walks contained within the information left for us in the cottage.

It has all you’ll need to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. Great location with lots to do! The kids had a great time too.Thank you! We will be back.

Spotlessly clean holiday cottage.

large spacious downstairs and good size bedrooms too - pictures make the bedrooms look like they are a bit cramped in the eaves, but they are not. welcoming hosts too.

Coney Garth Barn is an excellent holiday cottage.

It is spotlessly clean and furnished to a very high standard. The owners were welcoming and you felt they would go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. Not only were there wine and biscuits on arrival, but homemade scones and cakes waiting for us after a wet day out. Beckermet is a nice village with easy access to the Lakes and coast. Sadly, due to current circumstances neither village pub was open during our stay, but it did not detract from our stay and gives us an extra reason to return when things are back to normal.

Excellent accommodation with really helpful and friendly owners who live next door

We have had a wonderful time!

Lots of things to do (Muncaster Castle,mountain walks, boat trips,etc).

Met and exceeded expectations - so much so we have booked to go back in summer 2021 - booking 2 cottages this time to holiday with friends!
