The gift basket and your friendly welcome on arrival truly set you apart, and your attentiveness to the smallest details was highly appreciated. I would recommend Dalegarth Cottage to anyone. My family thoroughly enjoyed their stay, making wonderful memories playing games, paddling in the river, and watching the red squirrels. Beautiful, extremely well-equipped cottage in a stunning location.

The owners were very welcoming and helpful on our arrival, and the location is perfect for a rural Lake District experience without the masses of tourists. Plenty of walks and wildlife, good pubs in walking distance and the beautiful River Esk almost on the doorstep. Would gladly stay again.

This is the second time we have stayed at Dalegarth and we had another good week.

The cottage had everything we needed and there were great walks from our doorstep, rivers for swimming in and good pubs in walking distance.

We had a lovely stay in this cottage.

It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The welcome pack was lovely and the owner checked in with us the first day. The cottage is really well placed for lots of good walks, the little railway and the two pubs in Boot, both of which do great food. We would definitely stay there again.

The owner clearly takes pride in the property and it showed. There were some tasty treats in the welcome pack and fresh flowers in the kitchen. These little touches were lovely. We would not hesitate to recommend the cottage to family and friends.

Absolutely amazing property so relaxing and serine.

The host was excellent coming out in person to welcome us and answer any questions we had about the property and the area. Nice lemon drizzle waiting for us which was delicious. Well stocked kitchen and bathroom. Totally coming back.

The house was immaculate when we arrived and we were welcomed with a lovely welcome basket.

The house was very dog and child friendly and provided us with a cot and high chair for the baby, plus dog bowls, towels, treats and poo bags for our dog. It was very well equipped and in a beautiful location. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to explore Eskdale and surrounding areas.

Wonderful location and area.

Had car trouble but was able to do plenty right from doorstep. Local pubs within walking distance were very good. Was also wet weather but were happy to spend a little more time in the cottage. Wildlife was amazing. Best cottage we have stayed in. Very nice welcome pack

We stayed with our dog for two weeks in April/May.

A beautiful cottage in an absolutely beautiful setting. Deer, Hares and sheep in the garden, cuckoos calling, a lovely river running by the cottage, it was blissfully peaceful. The cottage is very well furnished to a high standard and lots of little extras. Lottie was lovely and welcoming. We would love to come again.

We've just spent an an amazing week in Eskdale staying at Dalegarth cottage 1.

The accommodation was top class and the owner, Lottie Stanley, provided all we needed, and more, for a special holiday with friends and family. We were welcomed with a lovely selection of tasty treats, which was very much appreciated after our long drive. Lottie came and topped up the bird feeders behind the cottage and we saw red squirrels, a yellow hammer (bird) and pheasants (male and female) out of the back windows. We also saw deer, hares and stoats in the grounds and of course, many sheep and lambs in the field opposite the cottage. The driveway to the cottage is beautiful, with the river Esk flowing alongside. Excellent!

What a great stay, better than expected.

Lottie made us so welcome, the setting is perfect if you want to get away from it all and the dog friendly welcome means we’ll be back for sure

A well appointed and well equipped cottage in a very quiet setting.

Our hosts were very easy to communicate with - and very helpful.

The property was so clean and quiet, in a tranquil location, walking distance from beautiful waterfalls, river and pubs.

This is one of the nicest cottages that the four of us have stayed in.

It is set in a beautiful tranquil spot, surrounded by quiet and nature. We loved it from the moment we got there. We saw a hare, a roe deer and many types of birds in the garden. Easy to walk to local excellent pubs. Great walks from cottage. Lottie, the owner, popped over to ensure we were happy and was the most kind and thoughtful of landladies. Thank you Lottie! We are re booking for next year.

The cottage is excellent, practically everything needed to make it a home from home.

The owner has obviously given this a lot of thought. Located in a very quiet spot with walks and wildlife on the doorstep. I thoroughly recommend this property.

This is our second New Year break at Dalegarth and it never disappoints.

Both cottages are clean, warm and very well stocked for everything we need. They are ideally situated for many beautiful walks and of course the trip on the steam train. I’m sure we will be back again

Lovely cottage in a tranquil location.

Property owner went to great lengths to ensure we enjoyed our stay and had everything we needed. Property is within walking distance of the pubs in Boot and also well placed to hike from with out driving, which is always a bonus. Thoroughly recommend.

Lovely cottage.

Lottie is a diamond, very helpful. The wildlife in the garden is fantastic, from the birds and the deer to the hilarious red squirrels. Could have spent all day just watching them. Got a fabulous video of one of them getting the lid off the squirrel food container.

We had a lovely holiday here.

The property is superb, spacious, decorated and equipped to a very high standard. Having your own very long drive through woods and by the river Esk was a particular highlight. Eskdale is our favourite Valley and we come here often. The property is ideally located for the train and for the best inns. It's also a good sport for lots of walks from the door. We would thoroughly recommend this as a place to stay. You can't fault it in any way.

We loved our stay at Dalegarth Hall Farm Cottage 1.

The cottage is very clean and has everything you need. The owner also left a lovely welcome pack. The owner popped round to check everything was ok. There were also some extras for your dog. There’s an outside hose pipe if they are muddy from a walk and a towel provide just for drying dogs. Please note dogs are not allowed upstairs or on furniture. Which wasn’t an issue for us but might be for some guests. We would definitely recommend Dalegarth Hall farm cottages.

Dalegarth Hall Farm Cottage 1 was superbly appointed.

With 4 adults and 2 children staying, the 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms made for relaxed living free from overcrowding and bathroom queues! The cottage location was perfect and ideally positioned for access to the local walks, pubs and the Dalegarth Train Station. Having holidayed in the Eskdale Valley for the past 12 years, we highly recommend this cottage and will definitely be staying again!

This property is in a secluded idyllic position, close to the river but still within a 15 minute walk of pubs in Boot.

It is ideal for a variety of walks and great base for exploring the Eskdale area. The cottage had been beautifully refurbished to a high standard with attention to detail and everything you need for a perfect sc holiday. We found the beds very comfy with high quality linen and pillows. All kitchen accessories were provided. Individual patio area with picnic bench and parking spaces for each cottage, with a further open shared grass area. There can be sheep in the field in front of cottages and sometimes in the garden, so dogs need to be under kept under control. The owners are attentive and on hand if there are any issues. On arrival a welcome basket of cake, chocolate and wine was provided. This was our second visit and we intent to return.

A perfect property in a beautiful location.

The owner has thought of absolutely everything. Six of us stayed for a family celebration and there was plenty of space for all of us, plus the dog. There are plenty of nearby walks with varying degrees of challenge. For us, the main attraction was the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway (Dalegarth Station is a 10 minute walk). Two nearby pubs - we ate Sunday lunch at The Boot, which we would highly recommend. Thanks to Lottie for being such a thoughtful host!

This was a superbly and thoughtfully furnished house with great attention to quality of finish and furnishings.

(Best whisk I've seen....) Our stay was REALLY comfortable and the provision of facilities was the best I've experienced - 2 fridges were absolutely a godsend! I'm struggling to think of anything that could have been better; and the only comments I could make are - a central coffee table would have been useful, and the locks on the bathroom doors could do with a bit of a tweak for a better fit. Piddly things really but I felt I had try and think of something!

This property was perfect and spotless.

A great area to visit for walkers, but also non walkers maybe with elderly relatives unable to tackle the hills. Steam railway to Ravenglass great and even a drive to Wastwater and amazing Sawmill Cafe. Thoroughly recommend!

Dalegarth Hall Farm Cottage is a delightful place to stay.

We spent a week enjoying hiking the surrounding hills, the Boot Inn for dinners and the steam train to Ravenglass to visit Muncaster Castle. The cottage was superbly clean, spacious for four of us, comfy beds and sofas, excellently equipped, one of the best we've ever stayed in. The owners have obviously put a lot of effort into preparing the cottage for all eventualities. They were so very attentive, helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend Dalegarth for a fabulous holiday in beautiful Eskdale.

Great cottage, which has been thoughtfully decorated, with everything you could want on holiday.

The spot was fantastic and the boys enjoyed jumping into the river. We had great meals at the Brook House and Bower House Inn. Lovely walk through Boot up to Burnmoor Tarn. Mostly we went to Wastwater and swam and paddled and drank cups of tea by the lake! Thank you Lottie for a great stay
